MLB GM Changes for 2008
Were there any teams that had a change in GM for the 2008 season?

Dayton Moore took over halfway through last season for Allard Baird with the Royals if we want to go back less than a calendar year.

Didn't he take over halfway through the year before that? Florida has a new GM as well right? Didn't Beinfest become President and they named a new GM. Edit: Moore was 5/31/06. The new Florida GM is Michael Hill. Last edited by lynchjm24 : 03-02-2008 at 10:52 AM. |

Wow, yeah. I can't believe I fell asleep at the wheel on that one. My bad.

As a Brewer fan and an NL Central fan, the GM of the Pirates seems like a solid pickup. He's said all the right things and could be a very good GM for that market if he puts his words into action.
The new Cardinals GM I think the jury is out on. I don't think he could've done much to save this year with a weak free agent class. I guess I'd chalk that up as a positive for him that he didn't feel urgency to go sign a bunch of mediocre players to bloated contracts. We'll see what he does from here on out. Ed Wade is, well, Ed Wade. I'm not sure that Houston doesn't become the Baltimore of the NL. The bright side of that is the NL Central doesn't have the Red Sox and Yankees (or anything remotely close). So there is a glimmer of hope. |
