PS3 Brethern -- Help (HDMI Related)

I bought the 40 gig model today and set it up. I got an HDMI cable and it says it reads it but when I click X to accept it as my visual setup the screen goes black like its searching but never finds it. I search for HDMI inputs on my TV and it doesnt find it.

Am I missing something? Is there cables I don't have I need? Helps appreciated.

might have to power down everything and reconnect. Just a thought anyways, sometimes HDMI ports can be sensitive if you plug shit in while they are on.

The PS3 is weird in that I think when you initially set it up, it's expecting the composite stuff that's in the box.

With the HDMI plugged in, turn the system on, turn the TV on (make sure the cable is firmly seated on both ends), and if it's black, hold the power button down for, like, five seconds. It should beep and reboot with the "HDMI input detected" screen displayed.
