What would MLB do if a team can't play for an extended time due to bad weather?

Does MLB have a plan ready if for a reason that a team or teams have no game for 2 or 3 weeks in a row? Would they move the next series to a dome like the Indians last year or would they extended the season by a week like after the 9/11 attacks? You can't have several teams at the end of the season having playing just 130 games and some have played 162 games.

I cant see a situation where any team could not play for 14-21 days in a row, during any point of a normal baseball season

I think the Mariners/Indians series got cancelled last year to begin the season. That was made up during the season.

It would certainly be a rare enough situation that I think you would deal with it on a case-by-case level. I guess the most likely situation like that might be if an earthquake in the Bay Area makes the stadium structurally unsound.

Last year the Indians played a series in Milwaukee because there were about 5 straight days of snow.

The Expos had their stadium fall apart one year, and they moved their games to the opponents' parks.

It's not quite the same since the weather isn't as predictable as "there's a hole in our stadium", but I'm sure the same plan could apply.

I think the only possible situation where a team would be prevented from playing games for such a long period would be some kind of massive sickness spreading throughout the team.

I'm sure they'd play "home" games on the road somewhere, probably. If it were majorly catastrophic, it'd have to affect larger society you'd figure.

For example if Team A has their weeklong homestand postponed due to heavy rain each day and the stadium cannot soak the rain fast enough then the same thing happens when they go on the road to Team B and Team C. It is unlikely that a team will have more than 5 or 6 games postponed in a row at the worst case. They don't stop just for light rain but continue unless lightning, thunder or heavy rain to stop the game.

Two weeks of continuous rain in the summer is not unknown in my area, but I would assume that a Major League stadium in such a climate would have a roof.

Doubleheaders on the next time the road team coms back or the games are made up on mutual off-days.

when Wrigley Field had concrete crumbling, the team said they could play their home games at US Cellular Field, but the White Sox said "Hell No", so the Cubs likely would have played in Milwaukee.

I don't understand why they can't play with rain or snow on the field. I mean, I've been to Pittsburgh and seen MLB games with a big steaming pile of shit on the field, so a little water ain't nothin'.
