I'll put some money on a move up the coast to Oakland.

I wonder if it is a age, or juniors "free and loose" style that brought this on

sad really. He has been the heart and soul of that team for 13 years. Thats like if the Redskins would have release Darrell Green a couple years ago. The fans would have freaked out.

He's too young for the Raiders.

OLB stands for Old Linebacker?

Wow, never thought I would have seen the day. But then again, a few years ago I probably would have told you that you were crazy if you said the Cowboys would release Emmitt. I guess nobody's safe anymore...

This is disappointing to see. You know it's a business, but you hope for the happy ending none the less.

Has Seau's play really deteriorated that much? I was still under the impression that he was the heart of the Charger's defense last year...

The Colts could use his leadership to fire up our defense, but I just can't see Seau in anything but Charger blue.

Speaking of Emmitt:
Has Emmitt signed for the Redskins yet? I mean, they dropped Davis, the way is free for revenge like only the greatest sports people have done... |

Would it be worse to have Emmit beat you as a Skin, or a Red Bird?

For god's sake, I hope he doesn't go to the Cards. Go to a team with a chance to win (not the Skins either). Try Philly or Tampa or the Raiders.

All I've been hearing the past couple of weeks is that Emmitt is being courted by the Cards, and yesterday there was an article on ESPN.com where he says that he had a great visit in Phoenix. I'll see if I can dig up that article... I hope that Emmitt either signs with Tampa or retires. Not very realistic, I know, but that's what I wish would happen...

I'm still in shock and the buzz going around is that fans of other teams can't explain it either.

Ok, the new buzz is that Butler has something up his sleeve. Apparently he saw something at the combine that allowed to abruptly changed his mind about Jr (he said recently that he will return). Therefore, he is looking to stockpile 2nd/3rd round picks. But the fallacy is that nearly everyone wants to move out of the 1st round and it may be that no one will. Teams like the Raiders may not want to give up any more picks and will wait until after June 1 to get Jr. without compensation. The worse thing about it is that his presence is sorely needed in the clubhouse with Boston (and his baggage) coming in, as well as the volatile mix of other youngsters. Harrison also helped fill that role but he is gone.

Ditto. I thought that was why he chose to be released, to avoid losing teams like the Cowboys that needed to rebuild through youth. If I knew the Panthers and Cardinals were his two favorite choices, I would have liked to have seen him retire a month ago. |

Is it really shocking that Seau would potentially leave SD? Rice left SF, Montana as well, Young came from elsewhere, Emmitt is cut, Barry Sanders would have played for others if he had the oppurtunity, Faulk was traded.........the list goes on and on.
