Position Leaders

Ok I looked around and didn't find anything on this that helped me so I apologize in advance if there is something and I missed it.

What determines a leader on a team?

I know you have the leadership trait but the highest isn't always the leader.

It's a combination of three things: leadership, personality strength, and years served in the league.

Actually, I'm not sure personality strength factors into who gets the leadership chair, at least not positively. I recall seeing a couple of players (this was a while ago when I was trying to study it but didn't get very far) that had equal leadership and years, and the guy with the lower personality was the leader. Actually...ah, here's an example: WR Clifton Gowin and Jerome Wallace. Wallace has a personality of 6, but is the leader instead of Gowin (tied for exp and leadership). So it is either going with the weaker guy, the dumber guy, or something else.

Also, I *think* that experience doesn't carry any additional weight past 8 years. I'm trying to find a good example of this, but it's not the easiest to sort through. But one example I've found is a 7th year, 85 ldr besting a 12th year, 76 leader. APE's DL might be interesting to watch next season, as there are two guys tied at 90, one 9th year one 7th year. They could possibly flip. Hrm, another is Coney Island's OL - 7th year 98 over a 12th year 89. DGC has an 8th year 98 beating a 10th year 94. Happy Valley might be interesting to watch in the DB too - I could see Antonio Daniels taking over for Brent Tynik (well, assuming they're both around still).

As an add-on here, be aware that personality strength (for both the leader and the other player) does matter in terms of the level of conflict or affinity.

Disappointing that we really don't have any more to go on here, after all this time, than hunches and guesses.

Honestly? I think it simply speaks to the fact that a majority of FOF players (at least those at FOFC) pay little to no attention to this game aspect.

I think it's a combination of lack of information in game and people that do know don't want to share what they feel is an edge they have gained on their opponents. Honestly, I haven't a clue on how this works.

I spent time on it, yet couldn't figure it out.

I'm not sure how much of it is sharing. I made all sorts of wacky color/number schemes to display this stuff at FOFL (with search) and I pay attention to chemistry, but darned if I know much beyond "affinities good - conflict bad!"

Ok, so we know that the chance to be a leader is higher for vets, and higher for those with high leadership (what the exact calculation is, nobody knows - and I've asked a number of times). Magnitude of affinities/conflicts is a function of players' vocalness. How much does happy time in camp (I'm thinking campfires, smores, maybe some hair braiding) factor into this? *shurg* Does this effect individual players, or a general position group "cloud"? *shurg* Red Flag? Don't even know where to *start* there.

Do inactive players help/hurt? IR? Unsigned draftees? *shurg*

This is an area where the game needs better documentation... then again, that's been said a few thousand times here.

Being a fullback seems to help a great deal for the RB leaders.

They also seem to be ones you should cut based on ratings and stats but they are inevitably mentors too.
