Salary Cap issue.

I am new here, but I am on season 2021 and would like to either increase my salary cap or get rid of it totally.

I have several issues,

One being I have have a habit of trading and getting multiple first rounders, and for example I have 4 this season and 6 in 2022 and 5 in 2023 already.

I am sick of having to Cap out all my players just to get to a legal roster number. I also hate trading down all the time, which in turn gets me more draft picks, because I do not give them away. If I had not already played 15+ years I would start over, but as you all know you get attached to your team.

Thanks in advance.

You can change your cap increase amounts in the options. As for eliminating it, well, the cap is an integral part of the game. Managing your cap is actually kind of the point of the game.

I agree, and I already have that set to 9.0 to 9.9.

But it seems in the last 2-3 seasons, I have hit a wall, with regards to the cap.

I just do not wish to start again, just sucks when you get picks 1,3,4 and 6. Then have to trade them all due to cap issues.

Then again you can trade the 1 overall pick to someone else and get two 1st's, two 2nd's and a 3rd.

But that is how this issue started.

If your interest isn't a "realistic" simulation where the salary cap is a meaningful part of the gaming experience, then you're likely to be disappointed by this game. Compared to others in the extended genre, FOF tends to be pretty rigid -- and you simply don't have the option to turn off the salary cap and play in a more wide-open atmosphere like you seem to want.

Actaully I like the everything the way it is, and if I wasn't at 257 million salary, with a 217 million cap. Not to mention 67 million in expected draft costs, I would not have any issues.

Next season should be even more interesting, as I already have $300 million in salary.

I just trade to much it seems.

So it looks like I will be making a roster purge, and will a have a rebuiling year.

I don't think you can trade for 4, 5 or 6 first round picks and not expect that to come back to bite you. First round picks are expensive, and there's a reason teams don't actually do that. (Although I also think it's an exploit of the AI that allows us to do that in the game). The salary cap model works best for you if you follow a similar model to real-life GMs, which includes minimizing salaries.

I traded for the picks in the seasons before, I was just real lucky/unlucky and those teams ended up getting 4 of the 6 worse records this season.

I never actually try to trade up, once the draft order has been decided, it is painfully expensive.

It seems to be an endless circle, as when I dump these, I will just get more picks in return.

I guess one should not have "23" 1st rounders on their team anyway.

Might be one of my issues.

If you mean, the real Wall Street, that would be a losing venture currently, no matter how good I would do.

Don't make huge offers you can't afford.

Cut veterans that want too much money.

Draft well.

Not sure what else to say.

The difficulty level. Although that would make it "harder" to manage the cap, so I think the easy setting would be what he'd want. But, you can't change it after starting a game.

The problem is my team is stacked, and as said above I had to give them huge contracts to get players stay around after the first 5-6 years.

One probaly should not have 70's and 80's at most starting spots, except for 5 or 6 60's. Oh, and I drafted all of them. FA's are backups, and ST.

ballpark numbers:
qb 66
rb 61
se 83
fl 63
te 91
rt 81
rg 79
c 71
lg 74
lt 91

rde 89
rdt 82
ldt 95
lde 56
slb 63
mlb 89
wlb 69
lcb 79
rcb 71
fs 81
ss 89

p 71
k 88

After winning 13 straight bowls, I should probaly start a new team on a higher level, like it has been stated.

Yeah, it looks like you need a higher difficulty setting. But at the setting you're at, managing your salary cap *is* the challenge. If you have that much talent on your team, and you can't afford it, the challenge is to keep winning and yet get rid of talent.

I mean I'd cry for you but I'd like to have a starter in the 50s at most positions, and to win a bowl. Having to cut all-pros is not the worst problem in the world.

Why don't you give away expensive players and picks to other teams that are not as cash strapped: trade an expensive player or two and one of your boatload of 1st rounders for a 7th round pick. Draft a bunch of 7th rounders and try to build your team back up. It's OK to have down years. No one will know but you.

It looks like something like this will have to be done, and you are right no one will know but me.

Otherwise, I think it is off to a new level, with a new team.

Also I would join a MP league if I didn't have a baby coming in a month.
Maybe next year.

You can also trade your picks for very good young players on low salaries.
