QB Formation Knowledge

Whats up with qb's not knowing formations their teams use a great deal of the time? I play as the Pats and Tom Brady has no knowledge of the 5WR set... a formation the Pats have used a great deal since '00. So is there any way before the season starts to teach QB's these formations before my first season starts?

Not exactly. QB's start with a certain number of formations based on their intelligence score. They learn new ones during training camp and you can't directly order them to learn the ones you like. It's based on their style of play.

Formations Known Screen

The Known Formations Screen lists which formations your quarterback understands.

During games, you will only be able to select plays using these formations while this quarterback is in control.

Quarterbacks learn new formations during training camp. Generally, they tend to learn formations more relevant to their style of play before they learn other formations.

Also, the Tom Brady in FOF is not exactly the same Tom Brady IRL. I'm guessing your Tom Brady doesn't knock up models.

The key principle to understand here is that FOF isn't really intended to be a replay sim.
