Strengh = left or right ???

Canīt understand the sense to use an optional side.

Suggestions please.
Without hash marks/detailed grafik I do not know where the ball lies?

Offensive strength refers to personnel balance in the formation. It usually indicates the side the tight end lines up on. So strength to the right would mean that the tight end is lining up off the right tackle in a standard I formation.

If the question originates with regard to the in-game playcalling interface (which I'm assuming it must), then it's basically a cosmetic distinction. It really does not matter other than to denote that a run in the strong direction will be a run behind an extra blocker and conceivably toward the strong side linebacker of the defense.

Hope that's helpful.

It also seems like it changes the order of some of the plays from which you can choose.

with a SLB and WLB, who line up according to formation strength, it can make quite a difference. E.g. WLB has run def. 95 and SLB has run defense 10. Wich side would you rather run?

Think that this needs to be taken a bit further...

Situation: Your offensive line is a bit of a mix-and-match job - you have two All-Pros on the left side, and two replacement-level guys on the right side of your offensive line. You notice that your opponents have a top-notch SLB, but a scrub starting at WLB. It makes sense (to me at least) that you want your strength (i.e. your TE) to be on the right side, then run left (so that you're running behind your good O-linemen against the weaker side of the defence (the side that the scrub WLB is manning)).

Of course, this is based purely on common sense, so may not be particularly relevant to how FOF works...
