Can you spare a Dime? Shaw Shanksters Hattrick Dynasty.

A new season for the Shaw Shanksters is on the way. Last season was embarrising, awful, ugly, disheartening, disgusting, and stressful. We won one game all of last season, scored less than 10 goals in league play, and gave up more than fifty goals last season.

There is no where but up from here, right? We have hit rock bottom we can't go any lower. This season we have to do two things win and make money. The sponsers are doing there part now we must do ours and score goals and win games. New coach Jimmie Killian has a lot to prove as Owner Superman 54 has Coach Killian on a short leash. Owner Superman 54 has a new policy " We will not accept failure "

Armando Sinico and Roosevelt McIntosh will have to lead this team. These guys are the key to the Shaw Shanksters sucess. A lot of questions must be answered this season. Can the Shaw Shanksters stay alive? Can they win? Is coach Killian the right guy for this team? Will McIntosh and Sinico lead this team to victory?

We will find out at some time or another or until we lose this team because of debt.

Season 1 - Another Hattrick Dynasty

A Hattrick Dynasty that is not by me and is not worth reading - White Sox Pride

News from around the league.

Johor FC the top team in league v.83 played a qualification game to move up to division 4. Last year, Johor was known for their defense only allowing four goals all of last year. Their qualification game did not go so good as they lost 3-0.

This makes my league that much tougher. SpiderZone has said that they will be rebuilding this year. Hoping to make this team younger and better. Overall a weak league but the top three teams will be competing for the top spot all year long. Johor, SpidrZone, and Rochester United make up the three horse race for this division.

I am hoping for a sixth place finish, but we will need to really step up our defense because most teams in my division have at least one decent foward. The Devil Quakes will also be a team to watch as they really finished the season strong as they went 2-0-1 with that one tie with Johor.

Series: V.83 (8456)

Country: USA
Level: 5 out of 6

Team Played Goals Points
1. Johor FC 0 0 - 0 0

2. SpiderZone 0 0 - 0 0
3. Rochester United F. 0 0 - 0 0
4. DevilQuakes 0 0 - 0 0

5. Proletarian Dictato 0 0 - 0 0
6. Stockbridge Panther 0 0 - 0 0

7. Umartu 0 0 - 0 0
8. Shaw_Shanksters 0 0 - 0 0

One thing that I see this team really needs as I look over my roster before the season begins is a go to guy at foward. We need a solid scorer who can also be a big play maker.

* Injured players
BOLD - Regular starters

Prescott and Goerge are both injured and will be out for a while. The best player in the off-season has been Jaun Luis Valverde. He has really done well playing the midfielder spot and he has now earned a starting spot.

We will be running a 4-5-1 for this season with an emphasis on defense. I call it the "Boring Offense." Our players probe the opponets defense over and over again until the opposing team makes a mistake. A ball control offense that does not allow many scoring oppurtunities and every oppurtunity that they get must be executed perfectly. Our defense and ball control will make us succesfull this season.

We went perfect in the off-season and allowed no goals in some very competitive friendlies. We did lose Leroy George in one of those friendlies. I expect no less than a 6th place finish. To get that we will need about 18 points. As said before Coach Killian is on a short leash and any prolonged streaks of bad play then Killian will be out of here.

We will be changing the training regiment to defense this week. For the first half of the season it will be nothing but defensive training.

My next match will be a Cup game vs a Division 6 team by the name of the Oregon Ducks. A must win game there should be no reason we should not win this game. So until the Cup game see ya later.

I am very dissapointed in the training this week. One of my star players Armando Sinico was the biggest dissapointment in this week of training.

Armando Sinico

Has wretched experience and passable leadership abilities

Stamina: inadequate Keeper: wretched
Playmaking: passable Passing: inadequate
Winger: inadequate Defending: inadequate
Scoring: weak Set Pieces: solid

His form went down and he got a year older. Still looking for a solid foward at a reasonable price. If you have anyone out there please post the players info and price.

The oldest player on my team Collin Crain still remains on my team beause he is a really solid midfielder. He still has half a good season left in him. We have to find someone to replace him.

Also some good news my youth team moved up a level.

Youth Squad: passable

Over the break my midfield has improved. In both friendlies that I played my Midfield received a poor rating. Here are the ratings from the off-season games.

Shaw_Shanksters

Angry AY AY AY! The Sky is Falling

Shaw Shanksters @ Oregon Eagles

Coming into this game I knew I would win, but at what cost. I pulled out most of the big guns for this game as I did not want any doubt that I would lose this game. This lead to another win, but a fatal mistake.

1st Half
After 14 minutes Shaw_Shanksterss Kenneth Beck made his way through the middle, putting the visitors up 0 - 1. The visitors Armando Sinico took advantage of an error due to a misunderstanding between the home side´s goalie and full backs in the 41st minute. 0 - 2 for Shaw_Shanksters.

The teams went for a half-time break at 0 - 2. The fortyfive minutes were dominated by Shaw_Shanksters, with an impressive 83 percent possession of the ball.

A very good half for us we avoided injuries and no major penalties. The solid young foward Beck scores his first Cup goal. Could we keep this up???

2nd Half
As Armando Sinico had, completely unprovoked, swept the legs out from under an opponent in front of a linesman, the referee gave the Shaw_Shanksters player a red card without batting an eye. A corner kick created great disorder in the penalty area, but at last Shaw_Shanksters´s Jon Gunter was able to shove the ball in. 0-3.In the to 87:th minute a very unfortunate collision in the home teams penalty area led to Shaw_Shanksters´s Jon Gunter being carried off the pitch.

Shaw_Shanksters, bringing the final ball possession rate to 84 percent, dominated the battle. Shaw_Shanksters´s best player was Lewis Spencer. Dudley Pritchard on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 0 - 3.

@#$@%#@*#^@%##@&#*@. Can you tell that I'm mad

It may be that our season is over before it starts. I learn a hard lesson today. Never start you regular starters even if you really want to win a cup game. Looks like Jon Gunter my all-star defender will be out for 6 weeks. I quickly hired some doctors and hope and pray that my best defender gets better fast.

I am still confident that we will win our first league game, but it may be a little closer than originally planned. Sinico will not be playing either as he is suspened. So that brings down our Midfield play a ton. Right now we have three players that are injured we need to stay healthy.

It's just a game I must calm down. This game is really addictive. In a bit of good news I would like to welcome the newest member of my team.

Claudio Dell'Asta (9454066)
19 years, passable form, healthy

A pleasant guy who is tranquil and dishonest.

Claudio "The Canadian Crusher" Dell'Asta will be the starting foward in all league games. A press conference has been scheduled for tommorrow to have Claudio meet the press.

The Press Conference

A throng of reporters to meet the newest member of the Shaw Shanksters as Claudio steps up to the podium wearing a brand new Shaw Shankster jersey. Many hands are raised to get their questions answered by the Canadian Crusher.

Reporter #1: Claudio, the Shaw Shankster's two best outfielders will miss the first league game against Umartu. Can you step up your play while those players are gone?

Claudio Dell'Asta: There is no doubt aboot it, I must step up my play and show I was worth bringing here, eh. I can only play the best I can, but we are going to miss Gunter and Sinico.

Reporter #2: This team needs to have success this season and really needs a solid scorer at foward. The GM and Coach have decided to make you the starter. Can you handel the role of the starter?

CD: Either I do a good job or I don't. I feel confident that I will succeed there is no doubt aboot it, eh. I will put a 100 % percent effort into every game that I play.

The reaction from the media about the move is positive. Many are believing that Claudio will become a premire scorer in the league as most of the offense will come from the wings and the foward spot. Shaw Shanksters GM/Owner Superman 54 has said that if this team does not succeed early on that a major shake up will be made in the club house and has said the Shaw Shanksters will begin to rebuild again.

He is on sale opening bid set at $95,000. With our need for money and the dissapointing play of Sinico we have decided to cut ties with Sinico.

He is listed in America under Inner Midfielder if interested.

Hey Superman, you do know that passing has some effect on a forward's performance? It might be a secondary skill, but you might want a bit better than poor. However, I don't know how much you paid for Claudio, so he still might be a steal

Well I paid $10,000 dollars to get C.D. While his passing is poor he is a major upgrade from my old foward. With Derrick Prescott, the teams leading active scorer, out for four more weeks with a broken foot Claudio should do fine.

Hey Sup!

I have a little advice for ya. Seeing as DK takes pride in keeping his financials in 'the black.' I though you might use some advice from somebody who has been in 'the red' before.

1) Drop all of your economists. They are costing you $4500 per week to keep on, most likely they aren't paying for themselves. I would be interested to find out what your 'finance' income is. I think that you will find that they are not, in fact, paying for themselves.

2) Don't train passing. I train forwards and I have slipped to passing on occassion. You really don't get your money's worth for training passing. You're much better off sticking to one thing (if defense is your thing, so be it) than switching up. You can train up your primary skills, sell the players and buy the skills that you need with the profits.

3) A quick and easy way to boost your midfield rating is to train stamina. That comes at the price of form. I would suggest that if you don't have the goal to win your division this season, that you train up your stamina. You should be able to get your midfield rating to weak or better with only two weaks worth of training in stamina.

4) I wouldn't disagree with your number of assistant coaches, except for the fact that they are out of balance with your physiotherapists. General rule of thumb: Have an equal number of assistant coaches as you do physiotherapists. Then set your training to 90% + 1% per assistant coach that you have. This will cut down on your injuries significantly.

I hope that this helps you out a little. These are just a couple of generalisms that seem to be truisms in hattrick.

And you paid a fair price for your forward: CD. You actually probably got a better than fair price for him. As a forward trainer, I might have expected to get 15-20k if I were selling a comparable player.

Yeah, at 10K is not a bad deal. Also, I had not paid any attention to your other players. Reason why I raised the point I raised is that I was in the process of shopping for a forward myself this week. Current starting forward in my 4-5-1 is inadequate/inadequate and I bought a passable/inadequate for 11 000 U$. Thing is, compared to yours, mine is 29 year old and in weak form. The age isn't a problem to me, since I'm not a forward trainer, I only hope his form will increase.

Good luck to you with Claudio!

The Scouting Report

Thanks Raven Hawk and Frog Man for the advice and encouragement.

This weeks opponet is Umartu. The last team we beat in league play was Umartu. I expect to win this match, but it may be a very close game.

Umartu runs a 4-4-2. They really don't score and do not have much defense. There best scorer is 30 year old foward Andy Sollis his specialty is Techinical. Umartu's midfield and defense is full of guys with one or less star ratings from their cup game. Russell Sharp one of their starting defensive guys got a 0 star rating in last weeks Cup Game. They do have one decent defensive player, John Hatch a 30 year old that has a specialty talent of head.

Umartu is basically a bunch of old fogies that lost there talent a long time ago. I pity the foo that has to take over this team.

Here are their game ratings from their cup game.

Umartu
Player rating and Team formation
Midfield: disastrous
Right Side Defence: poor
Central Defence: weak
Left Side Defence: weak
Right Side Attack: poor
Central Attack: weak
Left Side Attack: poor

Andy Sollis scored 4 goals in that game. We will be watching Andy Sollis very closely this game. To bad we do not have Gunter as he would have really helped in stopping Sollis.

Next weeks scouting report will be much better than this. I will have more to talk about.

Game #1

Shaw Shanksters @ Umartu (New York)

Well I expected to win this game and if we did lose this game we would be worse off then I expected. There were a lot of new faces in the Shaw Shankster's starting line-up. Overall a very youthfull team with lots of potential. Could we stop Andy Sollis? Could we score goals? Could we win on the road?

At Umartu Arena, 8486 punters turned up, and despite threatening clouds at the horizon, no rain came.

Umartu tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination. Lineup: Rowe - Sharp, Grissom, Hatch, Arnold - Fernandes, Smith, Mayfield, Benvegnù - Frank, Sollis.

Shaw_Shanksters had chosen a strategic 4-5-1 formation. The following players had been chosen: Mcintosh - Willett, Quigley, Denson, Conn - Spencer, Valverde, Crain, Mcduffie, Yanez - Dell'Asta.

1st Half
Shaw_Shanksters took the lead after 13 minutes with 0 - 1. Juan Luis Valverde placed the ball out of reach for the home sides keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left. A lunatic dribble by Jorge Mayfield, in front of the own keeper, set up Shaw_Shanksters´s Claudio Dell'Asta for an embarrasingly easy strike. 0 - 2. Some fine manouvering on the left lead to an 30:th minute Shaw_Shanksters goal, making it 0 - 3. Lewis Spencer was noted down as the scorer.

0 - 3 was the half-time score. The fortyfive minutes were dominated by Shaw_Shanksters, with an impressive 61 percent possession of the ball.

A very nice first half. I was very proud of how the team played. Claudio lived up to the hype and scored a very easy goal. I never heard that term before "lunatic dribble" I laughed so hard after I read that. Could we stay injury and penalty free in the second half?

2nd Half
The visitors Juan Luis Valverde took advantage of an error due to a misunderstanding between the home side´s goalie and full backs in the 50:th minute. 0 - 4 for Shaw_Shanksters. Bryan Quigley of Shaw_Shanksters received a yellow card in the 64:th minute for unsportsmanlike behaviour. The away team´s Joshua Mcduffie took advantage of a mistake to the home side´s right in the 73rd minute increasing Shaw_Shanksters´s lead to 0 - 5. The away team´s Claudio Dell'Asta took advantage of a mistake to the home side´s right in the 81st minute increasing Shaw_Shanksters´s lead to 0 - 6. Shaw_Shanksters's Freddie Yanez scored 0 - 7 by shooting accurately and hard from a long distance, leaving the opponent goalie no other option than to pick up the ball from the net.

Most important Shaw_Shanksters player was Roosevelt Mcintosh. However, Major Conn made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 0 - 7.

Overall a very good game the only bad part was the Bryan Quigley getting carded. He is not that important all he is good at is playing defense. Claudio Dell'Asta had an excellent debut with the Shaw Shanksters. Jaun Luis Valverde continues his good play that he started in the off season and the Cup Game. This team will only get better when Jon Gunter gets back.

Shaw_Shanksters
Player rating and Team formation
Midfield: wretched
Right Side Defence: solid
Central Defence: solid
Left Side Defence: passable
Right Side Attack: inadequate
Central Attack: poor
Left Side Attack: inadequate

I was disappointed in the game ratings and especially the midfield play. We will get smoked next week if we do not step up our midfield play.

Other scores from the league

Rochester United beat the Devil Quakes 2-1 in a thriller. Rochester and the Devil Quakes have each made improvements. the Devil Quakes were on a hotstreak by beating Johor, SpiderZone, and had a draw with Rochester.

Proletarian Dictato had an offenive explosion against the Stockbridge Panthers beating them 6-2. The Shaw Shanksters are as good of both of these teams. It looks like the Stockbridge Panthers got worse over the off-season Dicatato's youth players continue to improve.

The match of the week was SpiderZone @ Johor FC. The #1 team versus #2. SpiderZone lost both of their games to Johor last year. Could they get over the hump and beat Johor? The first half was a defensive struggle as Johor lead 1-0 at the half. In the second half Johor came out possesed and scored 2 goals in the first 15 minutes. The Shaw Shanksters are still a season or two away from being at the level of Johor or Spiderzone.

Our next game will be against Rochester United F.C., it will be a home game. Our home opener will be a special event.

I really want to pull a keeper with my next youth pull, but we do not have enough outfielders due to injury and and selling of players. So I will be back to report on the Cup game.

Cup Game Round #2

Hayward Haywires @ Shaw Shanksters (Chicago)

I was bringing out the B-Team for this game hoping they would show well and make the home fans happy. Today's fans got a free Shaw Shankster calender. A eighteen month calender with exciting full color pictures of you favorite Shaw Shankster players! We still have the free promotion for a free Krispy Kreme doughnut for every goal scored.

8925 spectators had come to Freemen Park this cloudy day.

Shaw_Shanksters started off with a 4-5-1 lineup. They fielded: Mcintosh - Dincã, Quigley, Denson, Willett - Davison, Valverde, Conn, Mcduffie, Beck - Rains.

1st Half
Johnson Davison was dominating his wing and kept sending fine balls into the enemy box - Steve Rains managed to kick one of them into 1 - 0 in the 15:th minute. Shaw_Shanksters put themselves up 2 - 0 when Major Conn broke through on the right, leaving the entire defensive box behind him. The structure of the game started to change as Shaw_Shanksters decided to pull back and meet their opponents in the defensive zone. Mike Blanchard went to the air and hit the ball firmly with his forehead for 2 - 1. Shaw_Shanksters were given a penalty in the 16:th, neatly put away by Cãlin Dincã. 3 - 1 for the home side.

Halftime score was 3 - 1. This part of the game had been a standoff between the teams.

I was a little worried about the team going to the defensive side so early and only with a 2 goal lead. Clalin Dinca had a good showing in the first half by getting the goal on the penalty kick. I was a little surprised by the guys scoring the goals. Conn and Rains are not great scorers and are really close to getting sacked, but might have saved their job for a few more weeks. With a three to one lead at the half could we win and move on in the U.S. Cup tournament?

2nd Half
Haywires managed to reduce a bit later to 3 - 2 as Ross Shepard finished off a well played combination from the left, carving through the defensive box. Shaw_Shanksterss Steve Rains got himself booked after a foul.

Possession of the ball saw an equal split between the teams during the fortyfive minutes.

The most dominating Shaw_Shanksters player was without a doubt Roosevelt Mcintosh. Cãlin Dincã was a disappointment, however. Haywires´s best player was Timmy Becerra. However, Ross Shepard made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 3 - 2.

A little scary in the second half as the Haywires were able to cut the lead down to one very early in the second half. Our defense played very stout in the second half after giving up that early goal. I applaud this team for staying composed after giving up the early goal. Coach Jimmie "Kimmel" Killian is still undefeated as the Shaw Shanksters coach. The sell out was also very nice and I thank all the fans that showed up.

Shaw_Shanksters
Player rating and Team formation
Midfield: wretched
Right Side Defence: passable
Central Defence: solid
Left Side Defence: passable
Right Side Attack: inadequate
Central Attack: poor
Left Side Attack: weak

The players with the best player preformances were McIntosh with a 2.5 star rating. Johnson Davison and Herbert Denson also had good preformances with a 2 star rating.

My next update will be Saturday with the scouting report and weekly youth pull.

Post Scouting Report - Rochester United FC

Rochester beat the DevilQuakes last week by a score of 2-1. Rochester has a really good offense, but a suspect defense. They use a 3-5-2, with one of the best combos at the foward position of all division 5.

Last week's game ratings:

Rochester United F.C.
Player rating and Team formation
Midfield: poor
Right Side Defence: inadequate
Central Defence: inadequate
Left Side Defence: passable
Right Side Attack: excellent
Central Attack: solid
Left Side Attack: solid

They have a solid midfield for division 5, and a really good offensive attack. Rochester's keeper is a bit suspect as he lacks stopping power and usually gives up one to two goals a game, maybe even more. This team is built around its offense, but if this team wants to move up they will have to play more defense.

Fowards:

#6 Theodore Jorgensen - 46 career goals 6 career hattricks
He has a specialty of quickness. It looks like today's weather will be partially cloudy. He killed us last year and with Jo Gunter not here I expect more of the same from him.

#13 Tim Helm - 41 career goals 4 career hattricks
He is the tougher of the two fowards. He really hurt us last year by scoring 2 goals. His speciality is power and he really man handles all defenders he is probaly the #1 or #2 foward in this leageu. The only problem is that he is 31 years old. He is definately going down hill in his career.

Midfield and Wingers:

#2 Ali Bautista - 14 career goals
The Canadian midfielder is very tough and has a specialty in head. He has 1 yellow card already this season. He did not play very well in last weeks game and only managed a 1.5 star rating.

#7 Ola Hansson - 10 career goals
Ola has a lot of promise he is only 21 years old and is already worth $92,000. A Swedish player who has a specialty in headers. He also did not do so well in last weeks game by only getting a 1.5 star rating.

#4 Dewey Cox - 8 career goals
At 25 years old Dewey is the stable force in the midfield. He does not score a lot of goals, he just playswell and does his job hemay not be as highly regarded as Helm, Jorgensson, and Hansson, but he gets the job done.

#17 Boyce Pendleton - 7 career goals
The 31 year old captain of the team is very unpredictable. He is not that good of a player and the only reason he is still around is because of his leadership.

#10 Milan Balla - 5 career goals
This Hungarian player may be the best player on the team. He is 26 years old and is a pretty damn good winger. His assessed value is at $200,000. I am confident that our wingers will be able to at least control Rochester's wingers. Although I am worried that Balla might score a few on us.

Scouting report (cont.)

Defense:

#11 Tom Thomson - 6 career goals
He is probaly the nicest guy on the team, but he lacks experince that his other teammates have. A very good defender that is only 24 years old and could become a shut down defender in the future.

#3 Jens Lange - 0 career goals
A 22 year old with no specialty talents or great talent. All he is good at is defending. At this level he is ok, but Rochester will need better defenders at the next level.

#20 Joseph Naynert - 5 career goals
Another specialty defender that lacks overall talnet or specialty talents. He has a decent amount of experince.

Keeper:

#1 Thord Lewquist -
No one in the league is afraid of this keeper. He is one of the lower rated keepers in this league. I am very confident that we will at least score one goal.

The Game Plan -
In last week's league game Rochester took apart a 4-5-1 that was much better than mine. So my game plan is not to get spanked to bad in front of a home crowd. Hopefully it will be 3-1 or something close to that. I am not expecting much out of the team or Coach Killian.

I will be back on tonight with the weekly youth pull.

Well thanks, it was a very tough match. The Haywires almost made a comeback and had me worried through out the second half. They are a pretty decent team and wish them luck in the future.

This week's youth pull sucked. A keeper that wasn't worth keeping so i fired him. Hopefully the youth pulls will get better.

Week 2 League Match

Rochester United FC @ Shaw Shanksters

The league home opener had many festivities before the game. There was a meet the players day, which let all fans meet the players and get free autographs. There was also a small carnival for the children to enjoy before and after the game. Halftime entertainment was a concert by none other that the rap group Outkast singing their hit song "B.O.B." (Bombs Over Baghdad). While I did not expect to win this game I was hoping to put up a good show and maybe a close game.

8925 spectators arrived at Freemen Park, where weather conditions were pretty good for football. (Another sell out)

Shaw_Shanksters started off with a 4-5-1 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Mcintosh - Dincã, Quigley, Denson, Willett - Spencer, Valverde, Crain, Mcduffie, Yanez - Dell'Asta.

1st Half
After 24 minutes Rochesters Ola Hansson made his way through the middle, putting the visitors up 0 - 1. The game had been on for 26 minutes when Theodore Jorgensen broke through to the right, upping the score to the home crowd´s dismay. Rochester´s were up 0 - 2. Herbert Denson had a good opportunity to reduce in the 28:th minute but wasn´t cool enough. The ball went miles over the bar. Shaw_Shanksters´s Rodney Willett left the field after 31 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was Dudley Pritchard.

Halftime score was 0 - 2. The fortyfive minutes were dominated by Rochester, with an impressive 55 percent possession of the ball.

I was pretty pleased with the first half as we did not get crushed to hard. Only being 2-0 we could still score an early goal in the second half to make this game more exciting. The injury was not to serious. Willett will only be out for a week. I already promised that I would score a goal on this team, would it happen?

2nd Half
After 54 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for Tom Thomson who increased Rochester´s lead to 0 - 3. Rochesters Tim Helm proved that he's been around on a footy pitch before, when he took advantage of a few moments of confusion in the enemy defence line, then elegantly scoring 0-4. The referee showed Shaw_Shanksterss Collin Crain the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Some fine manouvering on the left lead to an 77:th minute Rochester goal, making it 0 - 5. Theodore Jorgensen was noted down as the scorer.

Shaw_Shanksters held the ball, with a clear 51 percent possession rate. Most important Shaw_Shanksters player was Roosevelt Mcintosh. Dudley Pritchard on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating Rochester player was without a doubt Tim Helm. However, Joseph Naynert made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 0 - 5.

WOW, that was one ugly half. This team is all offense I thought I would score at least one goal. I knew we would get beat, but not this bad. I will get up the game ratings up later.

To put in in short The Shaw Shanksters lost the game 10-0. I played nothing but back-ups, we also used the 3-4-3 and we PIC.

They had a very good attack and a passable midfield.

Right Side Attack: brilliant
Central Attack: formidable
Left Side Attack: solid
Midfield: passable

I will be back on Saturday to give the scouting report on our next opponet Proletarian Dictators. Which is a game that we can win, I hope.

Post Week 3 League Match Scouting Report

Proletarian Dictators

This is the surprise team of the season so far. They finished in sixth place last season, but have come out with guns blazing. They beat Stockbridge in week one and the DevilQuakes last week. Both those teams are very respectable teams. They are hot, the Dictators have everyone in the league in an uproar. So far they scored the most goals with 10. It will be very hard to stop this team. It would be one of the bigger upsets in the league.

They use a 3-5-2 line-up which has really boosted their offense. Really their only weakness is their two backs that are the only weak links on the team. Really I don't know much about this team as they went on a great purge in the off-season and spent a lot of money on totally remaking this team. So if their is one team that i really don't know much about it is this team. No one in the league knows much about this team. Thats why their fast start really surprised everyone.

Scouting Report - Fowards

#11 Geoffrey Davis - 4 goals 12 career goals
This guy is not flashy, but he does get it done. He has scored four goals so far this season. He has solid form and just keeps improving. He may be a force in a few more seasons.

#10 Julius Boyd - 0 goals 10 career goals
He has a dissapointing start to this in terms of goal scoring. He is a very quick person, but just lacks big play ability. This team would be even better if Boyd could start contributing more. He already has gotten one yellow card this season. This 26 year old vetran really has to step up if the Dictators want to have long term success.

Overall their Fowards are very good. By the end of the year I wouldn't be surprised if they are both top ten scorers. Stopping them is a must. We must limit their chances at shots at the goal.

Scouting Report - Midfielders

#7 Ted Miner - 4 career goals
He has scored his goals this year by being the set pieces specialist. He is a 27 year old Inner Midfielder with excellent form. While Miner might be a little on the old side, but he makes up for it with his experince.

#6 Erin McCombs - 12 career goals
McCombs is the real star in the midfield for the Dictators. He has scored most of his goals off of headers, which is his specialty. He is one of the top midfielders in the entire league. If their is one guy that I am really worried about it is this guy.

#5 David Williams - 5 career goals
Another experinced vetran that has really produced for the Dicatators, this season. He is a 30 year vetran with solid leadership abilities. While he may not be the fatsest he makes up for it with his aggresive playing style, which has shown as he already has one yellow card.

Wingers
#9 Mariano Chicote - 1 career goal
He will be suspended for this game as he has two yellow cards already. Looks like his replacement will be Rich Quarles a servicable back-up.

Elliot Busch - 2 career goals
He also will be suspended for this game. I have no idea who will be the back-up for him.

Well it looks like we have found the Dictators weakness. They are really not deep at the Winger spot and now both of their wingers are suspended for this game. We will definately be attacking the wings to get some goals.

Scouting Report - Defenders

Ellert Hauksson - 1 career goal
He is the lone central defender on this team. A young guy that still has a lot to learn. He is a decent defender, but he is very human and we should be able to get by him for a few goals.

#4 Levi Shelley - 0 career goals
Another young guy that is serviceable, but will be needed to be upgraded if the Dictators want to go anywhere. If we go ahead with the startegy I have planned we should attack hard on the outside and destroy this young buck.

#2 Bjarne Anderson - 0 career goals
Another young inexperinced player on the defensive line for the Dicatators. As said before hopefully we can abuse this young defense.

The Keeper

Philip Mallory
This guy is a beast. The reason for all the success of the Dictators this season can all be credited to this guy. He is 20 years old and in his prime. His assessed value is at $316,000. So even if our attack plan does work we still gotta get the ball past this guy.

Overall a very week defense that we hope to pound on. Even if that works getting the ball past Mallory will be the toughest part. The way to get goals on this guy is to get as many shots as we can, which this young defense looks like it might give up.

Smile The New Guys

I just want to welcome the newest members of the Shaw Shanksters family. They should really help in improving this team and making us a contender for the future.

Quinton Lewis
46 000 US$, 24 years, weak form
Has wretched experience and weak leadership abilities

Stamina: inadequate Keeper: disastrous
Playmaking: inadequate Passing: poor
Winger: poor Defending: passable
Scoring: weak Set Pieces: poor

We add another Canadian to the team. I was really surprised at how much I paid for this guy. I only paid $12,000 for my new starting central defender that will really help fill the void while Jon Gunter is out.

Rickard Hörnsjö
73 000 US$, 21 years, poor form
Has disastrous experience and weak leadership abilities

Stamina: wretched Keeper: inadequate
Playmaking: poor Passing: disastrous
Winger: disastrous Defending: disastrous
Scoring: disastrous Set Pieces: disastrous

With the team lacking a solid back-up keeper I had to search the transfer line for a good back-up at a cheap price. I only got him for $8,000, but he was not my first choice. My first choice got me into a bidding war that eventually had me dropping out.

Angry Update

Battle Plan: Buffalo Wings
Well here the plan for tommorrow's game versus Proletarian Dicatators. The plan is to attack the wings with all we got, but the plan is hurt by Lewis Spencer being injured as he is a decent winger with some offensive skills. Johnson Davison will take his place in operation Buffalo Wings. We plan to use our wingers like Indians to hunt down the opponets like buffalo. We will be attacking hard from the outside and play conservative on the inside. Hopefully we can expose the Dictators weak defense and get a few easy goals. I am confident that we can tie or win this game.

Right now the team is about $125,000 dollars in debt. By the end of this season we should be back in black. The youth squad is at passable, but we are still getting crap youth pulls. Hopefully we can get back on track with this week's youth pull.

Cole Omalley (11099080)
20 years, passable form, healthy

A sympathetic guy who is temperamental and dishonest.
Has disastrous experience and inadequate leadership abilities.

Well its more of the same crap. I am now hitting the fire button. Well it is time for some news around the league.

News from around the league -

2003-04-19 New USA GM
Mod-Spidurman has been promoted to GM. His name will change soon(day or so). Please welcome GM-Spidurman.

Mod-Spidurman is the owner of SpiderZone. He gets the big promotion and wish the best of luck to him.

Here is a press release from the Devil Quakes about their dismal opening to the season.

DevilQuakes
4/16/2003 at 04:45 What the EFF!?!
Starting the season off 0-2, was a dismal way for new coach Jason Villalobos to start off the campaign. The 1st loss was understandable, but last weeks loss to Prolaterian was a complete shock.

Management is pissed and wants to know what the EFF is going on!?! The manager was heard to scream at the press, "EFF the ref, EFF the league, EFF all you! EFF 'em all and the horses they rode in on!"

The team may be shook-up with a possible big sale in the makeing in the next week or 2.

Well this is good news for us. If they start rebuilding it gives a chance to move up in this tough league.

This next press release is from SpiderZone.

SpiderZone
4/18/2003 at 19:01 NOOOO!!
The Spiders are heartbroken by a shattering cup upset - which management is covering up by citing a significant transfer volume in the club.

Effective immediately, the team will look to undergo a complete overhaul. No player's job is safe anymore, we will be pulling and training with the goal of winning the series next season and being able to compete in IV.

With three tough league matches in the next four weeks, the club hopes to get to where we need to be sooner rather than later.

This is bad news for us this year Spidurman is commited to moving up.

Another powerful specialty guy has been added to our team. We now have about 4 or 5 guys with the powerful specialty. I really like his play making and scoring stats. All around a complete midfielder at this level, for only $23,000.

The weather in Los Angeles is going to be overcast. That really does not help us I do prefer the rainy weather when I am on the road. I will be back on tonight to report on the game.

League game Week 3

Shaw Shanksters @ Proletarian Dictators

Its still early in the season but a win here could really help us down the road, especially a road win. I was hoping that would we at least tie or win this game. I was feeling confident that Battle Plan Buffalo Wings would work. With our team lacking confidence I was hoping my team would gain some confidence by scoring a few goals. We will see what happens in this game.

Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 10227 at Proletarian Dictators Arena today.

Proletarian tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. They fielded: San Germán - Shelley, Hauksson, Bernardelli - Chicote, Williams, Mccombs, Miner, Busch - Boyd, Davis.
(UGH, another 3-5-2 formation if I see another one of these I'll go sick)

Shaw_Shanksters tactics involved an interesting 4-5-1 combination. The following players had been chosen: Mcintosh - Willett, Denson, Lewis, George - Yanez, Crain, Dincã, Wilson, Davison - Dell'Asta.

1st Half
A well placed corner kick from Ted Miner was followed by Erin Mccombs´s hard but accurate header. The nice combination meant 1-0 for Proletarian. Seemingly due to lack of experience, Ellert Hauksson needlessly tripped an opponent just outside the penalty area, but the free kick that followed didn't succeed. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. Julius Boyd squirmed himself through the central defense line in the 27:th minute, asserting the lead to 2 - 0. Julius Boyd should probably have put his team up another goal in the 27:th minute, but some great goaltending by Roosevelt Mcintosh kept the visitors in the game. 30 minutes into the game Rodney Willett had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came Bryan Quigley. Proletarian put their lead ahead another goal as Geoffrey Davis struck home the 3 - 0 goal, after an attack from the left setting him up unmarked with the keeper. After this Proletarian lowered the tempo in order to concentrate on their defensive efforts. Proletarian put themselves up 4 - 0 when Erin Mccombs broke through on the right, leaving the entire defensive box behind him.

The teams went for a half-time break at 4 - 0. Proletarian held the ball, with a clear 65 percent possession rate.

This dissapoints once again. The wasted free kick chance did not help matters much either. The Rodney Willet injury was not to bad and he is only a defensive specialist. Hopefully things would improve in the second half.

2nd Half
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Proletarian´s Francesco Bernardelli got himself booked. As Collin Crain had, completely unprovoked, swept the legs out from under an opponent in front of a linesman, the referee gave the Shaw_Shanksters player a red card without batting an eye. Proletarian made a substitution in the 76:th minute. Francesco Bernardelli limped off the field and was replaced by Leroy Floyd.

Proletarian held the ball, with a clear 71 percent possession rate.
Proletarian´s best player was Julius Boyd. However, Leroy Floyd made a disastrous appearance. Most important Shaw_Shanksters player was Freddie Yanez. Bryan Quigley on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 4 - 0.

A very dissapointing game for the Shaw Shanksters. Owner Superman 54 ws quoted saying "The noose is tightening around Coach Killians neck. No players job is safe this team better improve fast or everyone will be fired." That was said as Owner/GM destroyed his own personal office.

Player Ratings coming soon.

Post Breaking News!!!

Reporter: Last night the Shaw Shanksters Owner/GM worked throughout the night trying to workout a contract for the new coach of the Shaw Shanksters. Thats Right!! The Shaw Shanksters have a new coach by the name of Nathaniel Henderson. An African-American coach that had a succesful career as a youth league coach. His youth league record stands at an impressive 84 wins, 19 losses, and 11 ties. He also won three US youth cups. Wait, here comes owner/GM Superman 54.

Reporter: Sir, Sir can you answer a few questions for the people watching this program?

S54: Sure

Reporter: What is the future for recently fired coach Killian?

S54: Well Nate and Jimmie are good friends, so Nate decided to keep Jimmie as an assitant coach.

Reporter: There are not many African-American coaches out there so why did you hire Coach Henderson?

S54: We didn't look at color we just looked at his abilities and his overall record with the youth teams.

Reporter: He was a very popular guy in the youth leagues and everyone seemed to like him. Will he be as popular and well liked as he was in the youth leagues?

S54: He already met the players and most of the players from our youth leagues were happy and excited that he was the new coach. As for the other players that will have to devolop over time. Nate is a great guy so he should have no problem getting along with the other players.

Reporter: whe...

(Superman cuts him off before he can ask next question)

S54: I am a little tired after all that negoitiating I think its time I go home and get some rest its been a long day. All questions will be answered during tommorrow's press conference.

Welcoming the new Coach

The press conference was a huge success. The press was very impressed with Nathaniel Henderson. A few inches over six feet tall, with a shaved head and a fully grown beard. He was in very good shape and looked like he could play for the Shaw Shanksters. One of the greater midfielders of all time in his day before multiple knee injuries shortened his career. He then turned to coaching and got a job as a youth coach. He then became head coach of the Lake Station Eagles. With the Eagles he became one of the best youth coaches in the United States. Now he got the call up to the pros with the Shaw Shanksters. He is a man that wants to succede and make this team into a winner.

He is my first block for building my dynasty. The next step will be getting this team out of debt. Right now we need to conserve money and will not be spending money until we get under $100,000 in debt. Well I will be posting my roster as it has changed a lot since the season began. I will start the scouting report either tonight or tommorrow morning. Well before I forget I want to post my new coach's stats.

Nathaniel Henderson (11223825)
40 years, disastrous form, healthy
A solid coach who goes all out
A popular guy who is calm and dishonest.
Has weak experience and inadequate leadership abilities.

When I first got my team I fired the coach who was disastrous. Things went fine for a while with my wretched coach, but then we fell apart so I fired him and I got Nate Henderson.

So it only took two tries. I guess I am really lucky. He should really anchor this team for the future. I should be able to build a franchise with him as my coach.

He should thank me for that, I was the one who told him to fire that wretched coach... Now all he does is rub it in my face. I'm happy with my one try passable coach right now though.

Scouting Report League Match Week 3

The Stockbridge Panthers do not have a win yet this season. They lost in week one to the Dictators 6-2. Then in week two they managed to score a goal on the toughest defense in v.83, Johor FC. Last week they faced a struggling DevilQuakes team, but failed to capitalize and lost 4-0. This week they face us a team with a new attitude and new confidence coming from our new coach. They have the second worst defense, giving up 15 goals, the worst defense was Umartu's giving up 18 goals.

This week we will be changing our formation to a 3-5-2. Right now we are passable with the 3-5-2 formation. We will be using the 3-5-2 to take advantage of the Panther's weak defense.

Last year Stockbridge was a very decent team that came in fifth place in a very tough division (if you don't believe me look it up on Hatstats). Last year their defense was serviceable, but this year their defense has totally abandoned them. This is a game that I am confident that we can win, especially with Nate Hendrson as the new coach.

Position scouting coming soon!!!

Scouting Report - Coach, formation, and fowards

Matt Dowdy (4865832)
46 years, poor form, healthy
A passable coach who prefers a strong defensive game
A pleasant guy who is balanced and dishonest.
Has weak experience and weak leadership abilities.

A pretty decent coach. He prefers a defensive game, suprisingly the Panthers have no defense at all. The Stockbridge Panthers run a 3-4-3 and it really hurts their midfield. They have an amazing attack that I am a little scared of. They have yet to score goals on a regular baises and we don't want to ge them started here. Here are the match ratings from their DevilQuakes game.

Stockbridge Panthers FC
Player rating and Team formation
Midfield: disastrous
Right Side Defence: excellent
Central Defence: solid
Left Side Defence: inadequate
Right Side Attack: passable
Central Attack: outstanding
Left Side Attack: formidable

Overall a very good attacking team, but they midfield really brings them down.

Fowards

Ronnie Hayden - 10 career goals
He is a 24 year old with solid form and a decent amount of experince. In his game against the DevilQuakes he got a 3 star rating. His assessed value is around $285,000. This guy is a monster and whats even worse is that he is not the best foward on the team. It is really surprising that this team doesn't score 3-4 goals a game with the fowards they have.

Brett Williams - 11 career goals
He is 27 years old also with solid form. His assessed value is at $569,000. He also has a decent amount of experince and his specialty is unpredictabilty. These fowards are eadly if someone can get the ball to them. Since their coach prefers defense and they use the 3-4-3 which makes their midfield bad, the fowards do not get many chances to score.

Pedro Williams - 3 career goals
The 18 year old rookie has scored all of his goals in the Cup games. Another really good foward for the Panthers from the Youth Squad. All three of the Panther's fowards are from their own youth squads.

All three of the Panther's fowards are very good players that if they were on better teams would be scoring 20 to 25 goals a season. On any day they could explode and put up quite a few goals. Still they lack any midfield at all. They have some great fowards, but lack a team around them. Most teams beat the Panthers by not giving the ball up. In their game against the DevilQuakes just played pass the ball around for 90 minutes. Here were the possesion rates from last week's game against the DevilQuakes.

DevilQuakes, bringing the final ball possession rate to 82 percent, dominated the battle.

DevilQuakes held the ball, with a clear 97 percent possession rate.

Post Scouting Report - Midfielders and Wingers

Inner Midfielders

Luther Tapia - 1 career goal
It seems like everyone on the Stockbridge Panthers has solid form. Tapia is a very aggresive player as shown by the yellow cards he has accumalated. He is not very experinced, but is still very young at 19 years. He is a serviceable player in the midfield for the Panthers.

Gabriel Enriquez - 2 career goals
A 26 year old with a very bad attitude and poor experince. He still has a long way to go, but he is getting old. In my opinion he should be replaced fast.

Bruno Winters - 1 career goal
Love the name makes him sound really tough. But, in actuality he is a feeble old man. He may be a pleasent guy, but his best playing days are far behind him.

Winger

Rex Stringer - 3 career goals
The best winger on the team in the prime of his career. He is a very unpredictable guy with a very nasty attitude. He may not have the greatest attitude, bt he gets the job done outside on the wing.

They use three inner midfielders and only one winger. Never faced anyone who had three inner midfielders and one winger. This team lacks anyone to play at least decently in the midfield. Their one decent winger looks prety decent, but I'm pretty sure that my wingers will contain him. Also all their midfielders average a one star or less rating for every game.

Defense

Gregory Lomax - 1 career goal
A decent two star defender. At 24 years old he has a decent amount of experince and has passable form. He is a roleplayer that probaly specializes in defense.

Herman Coleman - 1 career goal
At 20 years old Coleman is a young rising star in this league at central defender. In a few more seasons he could be a dominating force as a central defender. He also is a solid two star defender. He has a bright future ahead of him.

Jessie Lewis - 0 career goals
A very unpredictable player, one day he might get you 1 and a half stars the next game he might get you half a star. Still a very young player, but I see no future for Lewis. He is the weakest link in the defensive line of the Panthers.

Keeper

Travis Buckhart
Buckhart is the back-up goalie. The regular goalie Archie Walton a solid 2 and a half goalie went down with an injury in the DevilQuakes game. Travis Buckhart is a decent back-up goalie, but only got one star for his preformance in their last friendly. They should make the game a little easier for us.

Well the Panthers use some strange tactics. They only use one central defender, the other central defender is the third foward. While they have a good defensive line they only have one central defender that really does not help them much with their weak midfield. Overall a decent midfield. The back-up goalie I would say might be a level or two below inadaquete. So now I feel really good about winnng this match. I will be back to give a little update and report on the youth pull.

More of the same crap. Seems when I first started picking players I was getting players over 10,000. Now I cant get a guy over 5,000. Really frustrating.

League Match Week 4

Stockbridge Panthers @ Shaw Shanksters (Chicago)

With new coach Nate Henderson making his debut in front of a home crowd and what a special day it was. It was Shaw Shankster promotional calendar day and a new item was added to the menu at the concession stand. The "Nate Dogg" it big, black, and spicy, chicago style polish. But, the main objective of the day was to beat the Panthers, for coach Nate Henderson to get off to a good start.

Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 7190 to Freemen Park.

Shaw_Shanksters had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. They fielded: Mcintosh - George, Denson, Lewis - Yanez, Valverde, Dincã, Wilson, Spencer - Rains, Dell'Asta.

Stockbridge had chosen a strategic 3-4-3 formation. The following players had been chosen: Burkhart - Lomax, Jackson, Coleman - Tapia, Jackson, Enriquez, Stringer - Hayden, Williams, Williams.

1st Half

The home side put themselves ahead 1 - 0 in the 38:th by a breakthrough from Claudio Dell'Asta, who unaided came in out of the right wing hooking the ball over the visitors keeper. The visitors didn´t give in and after 40 minutes Gregory Jackson got through the home sides central line of defense, rolling in the levelling goal to make it 1 - 1 In the 41st minute Stockbridges Gabriel Enriquez received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Steve Rains the unlucky victim, couldn´t continue the game.

The teams went for a half-time break at 1 - 1. Shaw_Shanksters, bringing the final ball possession rate to 69 percent, dominated the battle.

The Stockbridge Panthers really challenged us in the first half. 1-1 at the half could we lose this game. I will tell you this, this is only the begining for Claudio Dell'Asta.

2nd Half

In the 52nd minute the home side managed to get a 2 - 1 lead as Claudio Dell'Asta flipped the ball after a cross pass from the right. Shaw_Shanksters put themselves up 3 - 1 when Kenneth Beck broke through on the right, leaving the entire defensive box behind him. In the 78:th minute of the match the visitors central line of defence had to look on as Claudio Dell'Asta dashed through, knocking home 4 - 1 for Shaw_Shanksters. By then Claudio Dell'Asta was a three time scorer - a hat trick!

Shaw_Shanksters held the ball, with a clear 88 percent possession rate. Shaw_Shanksters´s best player was Roosevelt Mcintosh. Leroy George was a disappointment, however. Stockbridge´s best player was Brett Williams. However, Luther Tapia made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 4 - 1.

A really good second half and the final exclamation point by Claudio Dell'Asta. It was Claudio's first career hattrick. Our reward for winning this game we get to face a struggling DevilQuakes team, but still very talented. Match ratings coming soon.

Post Week 4 League Update

Week 4 Match Results

DevilQuakes @ Johor FC - The struggling Quakes have to face the number one team in our league (maybe the number one team in division 5). Last season the DevilQuakes swept Johor. They game started out very competitive as each team scored a goal early on. By the end of the half Johor scored two late goals in the half to take a 3-1 lead going into halftime. When the second half the Quakes attempted to make a comeback and scored an early goal making it 3-2. The Quakes had a chance after a Johor penalty to tie the game with a free kick, but just missed it. Later on in the half Johor put away the DevilQuakes for good by scoring another goal ending the game in a 4-2 win for Johor. Johor still remains undefeated.

Proletarian Dictators @ SpiderZone - SpiderZone struck first in the 11th minute making the game 1-0. It stayed that way until the second half when SpiderZone scored two more goals to make it a shutout 3-0 win. A very dominating victory for SpiderZone. The Dicatators lost their first game.

Rochester United F.C. @ Umartu - Umartu is the worst team in the league by far. I am pretty sure they will not win a game this season. Things stayed the same for Umartu another 7-0 ass rape beating. So far they have scored 1 goal and given up 25 goals. Rochester moves into second place with this win.

Updated Standings

Team Played Goals Points
1. Johor FC 4 17 - 3 12

2. Rochester United F. 4 14 - 3 9
3. Proletarian Dictato 4 14 - 7 9

6. DevilQuakes 4 9 - 10 3
