DB Coverage Types

So I'm sitting around staring at numbers during free agency in my MP league and wondering a few things that maybe you folks with more experience could tell me. I've never gone too in depth with defensive gameplanning or changed much in the Pass Coverage screens and I'm wondering if it's a bad thing to sign DBs with good numbers in one type of coverage, or two types preferably but one bad coverage.

I have 1 good all around starter for CB and S and have a few options for the other 2 spots (3 including nickleback). There are 4 DBs in the 50-55 range in free agency. 2 of them have pretty even bars a S and a CB, one S has a 0 in B&R but good numbers in man and zone. One CB has good man and B&R but bad zone.

So would it be better to sign the two specialty players and adjust my defensive gameplanning to use the coverages best suited to these players more than unfavorable formations, or just get the better all-around guys and play it straight?

I want to believe I can adjust my GP to get a better defensive performance all-around from the specialty guys. And I'm thinking of testing it in a SP game, wouldn't be too hard but maybe someone can give me some quick tips?

Just one Jedi's opinion.

CB's- All CB's have to have m2m. I remember reading somewhere that Jim mentioned that reguardless of the coverage selected that in every play corners apply their m2m skills in at least some part of the play.

Other than that, it really depends on how you call your defenses. If you just 'rex' your defense, then you need balanced bars all over.

I am not making it out like I am some guru, but I will give you a general idea of what I do, or better yet, don't do.

I don't call defenses that my team sucks at.

WTF does that mean? As an example, I have a STUD CB in one of my leagues. But, to quote the Rock, he ABSOLUTELY SUCKS at zone coverages. So, I go out of my way to make sure he's rarely, if at all, in zone coverage.

The idea I have is that I want my best players in the best position to make plays, even if at face value it appears they are at a disadvantage. To give a similar baseball analogy- If my best pitch is a fastball and there is a fastball hitter at the plate, I am still going to throw him a fastball even though he knows it's coming.

That's my approach anyway.
