view sonic monitors?
Moving to a wide screen is something I'd like to do but it hasn't been high on my list of things to do right away. But then while in Costco today I ran across this ViewSonic monitor with 1680*1050 resolution for $159. Here's a link to the same monitor on new eggs site..Newegg.com - ViewSonic X Series VX1962wm Black 19" 5ms, 2ms (GTG) Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 DC 6000:1(1000:1) Built in Speakers - LCD Monitors
Looking for opinions on the monitor and VeiwSonic quality? Thanks. |

In the CRT days, they used to be some of the BEST. I have no clue on their LCDs though, so I'm really no help.

in conclusion - seems good i guess - although that's a limited sample size, i didn't really spend long checking up on it

I have two Viewsonic 19" LCDs and have never had a problem with either of them.

yep, they were definitely one of the best in the CRT field. I find them positioned more in the budget field for LCDs - still a good choice for the price, though.

I have a 22" Viewsonic and I dig it wholeheartedly.

Not sure what size monitor you are using currently, but be aware that a 19 inch wide screen monitor screen is a little shorter than a 17 inch 4:3 screen. I have a 24 inch wide screen, and the screen on it is about the same height as the 21 inch 4:3 it replaced.

I had a 19" short-depth CRT (short-depth meaning it wasn't so big from back to front, which was good for smaller desks) from them which lasted 7 years and roughly 5 different house moves. I'd buy from them again.
