Post TC Drop Situation - Should I be concerned

OK, so I drafted a RB #7. He had a very good combine, bars looked underrated as compared to his combine and his rating and was very underrated by my scout. I wasn't able to sign him before camp. He dropped 2 rating points. Is this a sign of things to come? Or are his ratings inaccurate because he is still unsigned. I'm not sure because I've always made it a point to get people signed before camp....until this year.

I think there's a lot more potential for noise in the camp movement with unsigned players.

What do you mean by that? That the rating drop is probably B.S.?

I think he means exactly what he said--not necessarily that it's "probably" B.S., but that there's more potential for an incorrect read ("noise") than there is normally.

I drafted a CB 4 seasons ago, didn't sign him for camp. He dropped -2/-3. Then gained 3/0 in the preseason, 9/0 in the regular season and +17/-2 since. Don't think it's anything to worry about in itself.

only -2? dont worry too much. those types of guys always hover around where they are right now. now if it was -5 or more, then you can expect him to drop 5 to 15 more points over time

I don't think some of you are understanding. I drafted this guy with the impression that he would be gaining quite a bit of points. He signed and is rated 57/57 right now. He was the 3rd rated player in the entire draft, and my scout had him very underrated. Combine was top notch too. So, if he doesn't gain points, it's a disappointment.

Gotcha, thanks. Now, if he does start gaining rating, like I thought he should, when will I see it? Just gradually throughout the season, or maybe during next years TC?

Its not a good sign, buts it not definitive. Most guys in this position would be heading towards a potential drop.

If you want a more accurate picture, can you post further details? Exact combines etc? Even the players card if you know how?
