Word is there's a big sale on Lions' gear at detroitlionsstore.com -- 80% off, though not much is left. It sounds like they're getting rid of stuff to get ready for a new logo.

New Lions uniforms -- and logo -- could be revealed soon

The Detroit Lions have been very secretive about their plans for the draft and free agency, but they're being just as coy about their plans to change the team uniforms and logo. However, veteran defensive tackle Grady Jackson, during a radio interview Monday night, let something out of the bag.
Jackson, who recently signed as a free agent and probably didn't realize the Lions wanted to keep their new uniforms and logo a secret for awhile, made a comment about how he liked the Lions' new look, including a remark that he liked the "new colors.'' This morning, I contacted a Lions official who wouldn't say a word about the possibility of new uniforms or logo but it appears unlikely the team would change its colors.

Meanwhile, the Lions' official online store is having a blowout sale to clear out all of their remaining gear with the old logo. Some items are marked down 80 percent. With the old stuff gone, the Lions are going to need to stock those empty shelves with new merchandise. The question now is: How soon will they unveil it?

The Lions have a press conference scheduled for this afternoon with head coach Jim Schwartz, but I was told it has nothing to do with the uniforms and logo.

I am sure that any new logo or change in the color scheme will have about as much impact on the field as those terribly intimidating black jerseys.

That is awesome. Quite a bargain too, especially for an autogrphed item.

I fully endorse just using the Throwbacks every game.

Why is Ronnie Lott doing the foreword? What about her husband, the former NFL QB?

I would have liked to have been a fly on the wall in the marketing and merchandising meeting where they gave the green light for the wooden hangers with the logo.

I would've loved to have been a fly on the wall when they decided to have 80,000 seats in the Silverdome and thought it was a fantastic idea.

This thread title threw me off. Was I the only one caught unaware that there were actually any Lions fans?

MBBF, you need to get your sarcasm meter calibrated. "Detroit Lions Fans" was just a joke. Sheesh, don't take everything so literally.

I didn't see the fuzzy dice. That sounds cool, and I definitely need more junk. I'm scoping out the furry helmet, and maybe the throwback cap. I'm really bummed that they were out of T-shirts, though.

Okay, I had to buy something. Got my son the Lions football outfit (jersey, pants, plastic helmet) for $12.50. The Colts ones around here are 50. Can't beat that.

Thought hard about the $8 Lions crocs. Would use those for yardwork.

Will the Lions be the first team to wear neon pink? WE CAN ONLY HOPE.
