Dwayne Wade is pretty damn good. He is a very complete player I think he is a junior I hope he stays one more year. The problem is that he has a family to provide for.

I wouldn't mind the Bulls taking him in the upcoming draft.

Again... How was Wade not the National Player of the Year. This Marquette team is a NCAA Bubble Team at best without him? Can you say the same about Texas without T.J. Ford? No way....

Check this thread out again..

I think I'm the only one in my pool to have Marquette going to the final 4. almost everyone had Kentucky, with a few Pitt picks.

also have Texas, Syracruse and Kansas going - all still in the game as of this writing.

I am clueless about basketball.

"This Marquette team is a NCAA Bubble Team at best without him?"

the answer to your question, apparently, is no, they are not a bubble team without him. they are good enough to go, just not as a 3 seed, or whatever they are, same as texas without tj (who would be 6-7th place in the big 12 and an 11 seed or so)

The way my bracket and my pool has worked out, I got hosed personally today but, I can still win my pool if Texas wins the tournament, or if Marquette makes the final and Texas and Syracuse win tomorrow. Kind of odd.

Anyone else realize if the two #1 Seeds win tomorrow we'll have three Big 12 teams in the Final Four..

KU vs. Marquette & OU vs. Texas

Wow!!

Here's hoping Michigan State can somehow pull it off tomorrow over UT in a matchup that may as well be played in Austin.

Same goes for OU vs. Syracuse in Albany, but in this situation the 'Orange are the lower seed. Talk about a tough break for a #1 Seed.. Good Luck OU!!

My early prediciton: OU beats Syracuse and MSU stuns Texas..

In the Final Four, OU and KU advance, creating a rematch of the '88 (correct me if I'm wrong here) Final...

Danny Manning vs. Stacey King (what a bust he was in the pros)

All Marquette has done is just break the hearts of Missouri fans. We came within inches of putting Marquette away, and all they have done since is pound people. Makes you think what might have been.

If Missouri had won and gone on to do what Marquette has done, the Big XII could be going for a four-fecta tomorrow. I was torn watching the KU/UA game today. On the one hand there's Kansas, but getting three Big XII teams in the Final Four would be sweet.

Chief,

Perhaps if Quin Snyder can ever get his players to play like a basketball team...the Tigers will be a higher seed next year. How he can bring on so much talent yet not contend in the Big 12 is a surprise to me.

If Norm Stewart had half that talent, they'd be Big 12 champs this year and definitely next year. Of course, Norm would have benched Clemmons and Gilbert long before they started shooting Missouri out of games. If not for Quin's lips planted solely on Kroenke's bottom, he'd have been gone two years ago. They should have gone for Bill Self when they had the chance. But Bill won't kiss up to Kroenke...

Snyder is a different coach than Stewart was. The Big 12 is a fierce conference and Missouri can't play away from Columbia. Clemmons is nothing like Gilbert, at least Clemmons knows how to pass the ball to someone.

If AJ and Paulding stay for their senior year, Missouri will be ranked in the Top 10 next year. Add the guy from VMI and I think Missouri will contend for the Big 12 title next year. Quin has learned alot along the way and I'm glad he's here. Norm was a fixture for 35 years, Quin is just getting started.

If I remember correctly, Illinois is sitting at home just the Tigers are.

Mizz,

But Illinois wasn't supposed to be very good this year whereas the junior laden Tigers were to be. Plus Illinois was in the very tough west bracket which neither Duke nor Arizona escaped out of. There's a reason why many reporters are thinking this year's west bracket may be the strongest in history.

The Big 8 was a fierce conference as well, but Norm Stewart managed to do better than 5th and 6th place finishes. I still remember the year where KU, OU, and MU were all trading off the #1 ranking. That was even when KSU, Nebraska, Colorado, and ISU were decent in basketball.

If Johnson and Paulding stay, you bet your a$$ that they'll be top 5. Just as they should have been this year. It's amazing to think prior to conference play, Missouri was top 10 yet they dropped out during mid-conference.

The question for Paulding and Johnson is...do they learn from Kareem Rush's mistake? Rush left a year later than he probably should have. If I were Johnson, I'd leave ASAP. His numbers won't get any better as more shooters come into the program next season. He doesn't get the ball nearly as much as his talent warrants and you can only blame Quin Snyder for that. Paulding is a question mark. He should stay, but the Rush situation may make him go early.

As for Quin, the fact there have been so many recent violations (12 just recently reported), you have to wonder if he's competent enough to handle the job at Missouri. It will be interesting to see if he remains there for 30 plus years as Norm did...or if he'll even get that opportunity.

I don't think he'll be there 30+ years, in fact I had thought he would stay at Mizzou only as long as Mike Krzyzewski keeps going at Duke, which could be awhile.

I think he'll take Missouri further than Norm has ever taken them. Only time will tell though. He's still young and learning to coach in the Big 12. I don't like his 'free reign' style sometimes, but I like the way he backs his players.

If everyone stays, next year will be a make or break year for him, imo. Don't get me wrong, I love Stewart, but I'm glad Quin is here. (Not as much as having Pinkel coaching the football team )

Mizz,

Agree on Pinkel over Snyder. That's the one thing I don't get. The athletic director picked up a very experienced young head coach in Pinkel. But when he picked up his basketball coach, he went for the inexperienced assistant Snyder. I have a feeling that Kroenke had a voice in the decision. Sadly, Kroenke controls the basketball fortunes obviously...given how Norm Stewart was essentially tossed out and not even recognized due to Kroenke. I'd pay money to see Norm get a chance to play Kroenke one on one, lol. I'm seeing some elbow leading charges from Norm, lol.

So you think Snyder to Duke? That'd be a huge mistake in my opinion. Duke will need to keep that momentum. They should go after a proven coach before even dreaming about the former Duke assistants. Pitino? Calipari? Sampson? You don't want what happened to UCLA and UNC. UCLA settled on Lavin while UNC settled on Guthridge. Now look where both of those programs are after poor recruiting.

By the time Coach K retires, Tommy Amaker and Quin Snyder could be big time "proven" coaches.

Great paragraph, I'm also a UNC fan and still cringe when I hear Guthridge. I just think Duke is grooming him at Missouri. They might have told him, "Go out and take the job at a good school in a hard conference (not ours) and learn how to coach. If you impress us, you're in when Krzyzewski retires." That's my theory anyway. These last few years have been bitter sweet. We lose a tough game vs Oklahoma, which could have gone either way. Then, we lose to a great Marqueete team whom everyone underestimates, including me. They were unreal in OT shooting 100%!?! These aren't Quin's fault at coaching, if anything the poor guy can't get a bounce to go his way.

I'll say this again, if AJ and Paulding stay, we will the Big 12 next year or finish a close 2nd. We also make it to the final four, where I think Quin will 'outwit' a good coach in a game that meanks so much for him and his tenure at Missouri so far. We loose in the championship game where his mentor proves once again why he's the top dog at Duke.
