Talking Legends of Wrestlemania (Console Game)

Anyone else tried the demo to this game? I have not purchased or even played a wrestling game in 3-5 years. The demo has me pretty excited. I like the old school feel and the intersting control scheme. I like the relive and other modes they will have. I like the old guys in it but will miss not having Macho Man in there. I hope he is hidden or can easily be created in the creation mode.

I feel sort of stupid getting hyped for a wrestling game after all this time. Probably will be dissapointed and don't really remember checking boards for info on a game (of any kind) more than I have for this one in several years.

I don't really have time to spend looking up information either which is strange.

Anyone else getting excited about this game or am the only doofus around?

I hope it's good.

These wrestling games are great fun to play with some buddies when drunk, but the last time I remember them being any good was several years ago on the PS2.

Every version on the XBox 360 has been pretty weak.

Ditto...N64 had some great games. I put hours and hours into some of those with buddies...we even came up with our own make believe belts and had tournaments to decide the champs.

This game is made for me. I'm the guy they want to buy it. Someone who grew up watching 1980's WWF. But without Macho Man, i have no interest. That alone screws the whole thing up

Anyone know if you'll be able to download created wrestlers from the Xbox live (like rosters from College Basketball 2K8)? It doesn't bother me that much Randy Savage isn't in the game, but only if I can get a realistic creation of him. I have found that creating wrestlers now days is a pain in the butt.

Ign's review is up for this game.

Only got a 6.5. Not a good sign from a site that always seems to inflate ratings for games.

I got it today. It's fun and a little tough at first. I've played SVR and not really enjoyed it, but I enjoyed the pick-up and play aspect of the game. My son and I had a great time playing.

The nostalgia of seeing the Hulkster come out or the Road Warriors make their way to the ring was cool. I've played through two of the Historic matches (Hulk/Bundy and Hulk/Andre) but got DQ'ed as the Ultimate Warrior vs. Hulk in Wrestlemania VI when I hit him with the steel chair.

Those WCW games were fantastic. Even better considering how bad the WWF games of the time were.

Read the review. I have to say that the reviewer is right on many counts but regardless, the game is fun to pick up and play. I have no problem with wrestlers performing the same moves except for their finisher (see the N64 games). The graphics are really good, the entrances are awesome, and the interaction with the managers is great.

IMHO it's a better game than SVR, but I'm probably in the minority.

Same here: I've ordered it today on Play.com. I played with the demo a little bit, and had a lot of fun. Plus, I grew up with these characters.

Rented this one last night since gamefly has not shipped me a copy yet I got it at Blockbuster.

Impressions:

- I like the classic guys on the roster.
- I like the Relive, Rewrite, Redefine stuff that I have played I only wish it there was more of it. The Hogan v. Bundy cage match took me forever to finish until I figured out how to do the button mashing game to stop him from going out the door.
- I actually like the novelty of the chain system that allows you to reverse (or the CPU ro reverse) in the middle of a finisher chain sequence and other sequences.
- I haven't tried legend killer mode.
- I like the old No Mercy way of having belts in the game that can change hands in exhibition matches.
- My wife thought it was cool to see Warrior taking on Hogan again.
- She also still has a ton of distain for the heels in the game. Amaxing how that stuff still sticks after all these years.
- I wish there was more olf footage included. There is alot but I wish I could see more! I have never bought any WWE history DVDs but I may wish to do so now having seen some of this stuff. Some of the novelty of it is seeing the real events and then "reliving them"

So did you like it? I love it because it's actually fun to play and not a chore. In a way it's to SVR as Blitz is to Madden. I'm going to rent SVR just so I can get a save game to import the SVR wrestlers.

No Macho and no Steamboat really hurt the likelihood of a buy from me.

Even with out Steamboat, you could still have Macho v. Dibiase, Hogan, Warrior and Flair. Could throw Elizabeth in the game then too.

My wife was a huge wrestling fan when I met her... More than me in fact... Primarily due to her grandmothers love for rasslin' and her memories of sleeping over on pay-per-view nights with her cousins...

I am enjoying the game so far. I certainly do not think that it is too easy in the RRR modes... The exhibition matches might get easy but trying to meet the criteria in RRR can take 5-10 tries for me... Hogan/Warrior has been really tough for me so far... Still haven't completed it...

I wish I could find a gamesave for 360 from smackdown to unlock the newer guys. I tried to create a Macho Legend last night but came up a little short. I will probably find a formula somewhere when I get the chance. Hopefully gamefly will send my copy before I have to take this one back to Blockbuster. If not I may end up buying it...

The demo was fun. I like the old videos and montages from the past. I'm going to probably wait a couple months and buy it off Ebay at a discount.

I saw that gamefly shipped me a copy today. I hope to get a game save for smackdown some where and delve further into this one when the game comes in. I am enjoying it alot but had to take it back to blockbuster this morning. I wish I could find a good CAW for Macho Man though...
