Fixing Screen Flicker in Solevision

I'm not sure if anyone else has run into this, but occasionally I'll get really bad flicker as the solevision screen redraws itself for each text line. I've found there are two ways to fix this:

1 - Increase the refresh rate of your display to over 75 (this is a good practice anyway, but I can't do it for the resolution I like to run)

2 - Keep focus on the "Broadcast Speed" dropdown. Not sure why this works, but it does, even at low refresh rates.
