X-Com: Apocalypse

I just picked it up on Steam a bit ago.

I hate those little brainsuckers the aliens shoot from their guns. I don't know what they are yet (still researching), but they suck.

Playing this one through for the millionth time now as a timewaster. Best strategy game ever made IMO.

Grenades are really the best/only defense against those guys at the beginning. It sucks because they are in such short supply but they are the only way to make sure your guys don't turn into alien controlled zombies on every mission. Brainsuckers move fast and unless you track where the pods are landing, come out of nowhere. Later on once your guys are good shots and you can get some better weapons, it gets easier. But damn, the brainsuckers blow at the beginning of the game.

One more thing, if a pod is fired close to your guy, you can hit the inventory screen and pick it up, and it won't hatch. This can really save your ass if you are in a tight spot.

Imo, it's the only other good X Com game because TftD is too tedious and the later ones blew fat wrinkly donkey balls.
