Well, lets see. The party has cleared out. 1 person passed out on the coach, the wife passed out in bed, and I am still too pumped to go to bed, and figured I might as well polish off this second bottle.
![]() I have only been an SU fan since 1991, and I know many people, even on this forum have been fans much longer, but damn it felt like a life time, just waiting to watch "One Shining Moment" and it being my team celebrating. It was a better feeling than I even imagined. It was a better feeling than my pro teams winning 6 titles in my memory. Heh. We pulled the tape out after the press conferences and watch One Shining Moment 2 more times before everyone left. ![]() This title belongs to everybody from Dave Bing, the Pearl, to Sherman and Colemand, to John Wallace, to Hart and Thomas, and of course to Jim Boeheim!

Now Marmel, was it during or after the game that you "whipped" you twice? Did you let Fritz watch?

Hey, you forgot Rony Seikaly. And later for the Pearl: He came out too early. |

Please do not utter the name of Rony Seikaly. I'm trying to be happy for Marmel, but Syracuse and Rony Seikaly destroyed my youth when they beat UNC in 1987, and the hate starts to return... ![]() |

I'm still drained, even after reading all the write ups this morning on ESPN and syracuse.com. I do think that Kansas is a very classy team and it was special to have them as the opponent.
I have been a SU fan since my early childhood in the 1960s, it is my hometown. I was born 4 weeks after they won the college football championship so this had been a long time coming for me. I am very happy now. While I have no reason to bad mouth college basketball, but the system and mindset of the NBA makes me unhappy when they would readily accept HS seniors and college freshmen as if the lifetime experiences of Hinrich and Collison mean nothing. If Anthony wants to get his big bucks, all the power to him. But I can assure you that whatever transpires in the ugly jungles of the NBA, it will not be as satisfying as his freshmen year at SU. |
