Player Production in the Final Year of Contract

Does anyone know if a player plays at a higher level or increased production in the final year of his contract?

I don't have anything concrete on this, but I have seen some examples of a player's production increasing in a contract year.

Is this just dice roll thing or is there something to it?

I've never paid attention but I have a K who in the one year I signed him kicked over 90% of his FGs. After I resigned him as a RFA and then he turned to shite

I had a nickel back who was in his contract year and almost broke the league single-season INT record, although most of those picks came in the first half of the season and he kind of disappeared in the second half. I just figured it was a stroke of luck but it was kind of cool that he was in his contract year and it looked like he was playing harder
