"The Defense looked very familiar with the play"

Here's a rookie in need of advice from some of you veterans ;-)

I'm in a SP game, calling plays myself.
When trailing late in a game, I always get theses messages that the CPU Defense looked familiar with my offensive plays. Even if I run plays that I didn't run at all in this game.
It's almost impossible to get a come-from-behind win for me. I have a good young QB (Matt Ryan) and some good WRs (Calvin Johnson, Brandon Marshall, Marques Colston) but I don't get my passing game going. Too many INTs and lack of big plays...
Am I missing something?

How many formations does he know? Go into the gameplan and spread out the percentages among those. If he only knows 7-8, can be difficult to avoid. Run more. In training camp, dedicate more time to game film and up his formations.

He knows 12 formations. Even when I run a play that I didn't run the entire game, I get this message. How can they know a play if I didn't run it at all?

His playcalling skill is 'very good', but it shouldn't matter, as I call the plays myself. I thought his skills only matter if you simulate games...

I don't think the key is individual, specific plays; I think it's style of play and formation - i.e. short pass, I-Form. Or inside run, Single Back.
