Data Execution Prevention (DEP)

Is anyone else having issues with this on Vista? I've been running FOF for over a year on this laptop with no problems... now, I suddenly have all these issues which seem to come from this DEP that Microsoft installed on my computer... with no way to turn it off. I can turn it off for various programs, but it seems some programs work off others. I can't use the StelmackSoft stuff, or change tracker, as it seems to affect any automated mouse programs.

It's very frustrating, and, frankly, pissing me off. So I thought maybe I'd come here to see if anyone else has had the same issues and resolved them or know anything more about it.

Thanks.

Should be able to turn it off by going to computer Properties, Advanced System Settings, Performance, DEP tab there. No?

You can turn it off for individual programs. Not altogether. I want it off, period... not just for certain programs. I can't run change tracker, period. I used to get the game summaries in a nice IE window, now I don't any more. I can't open FOF unless I have DEP turned off for FOF and on for IE... and I don't even use IE, I use mostly Opera.

It's strange, I don't like it, and Microsoft should allow you to decide if you want this shit running or not

Aren't the two options, 'off but for essential windows programs' or 'on but for the programs I list below'?

I'm on Windows 7 now, so flying partially blind. The first option should effectively turn it off for all things FOF and otherwise.
