Question Need some IE Browser Help

Ok, I screwed something up in IE version 6, and now certain pages like ESPN won't show (no error message, just shows up as blank).

I tried lowering my security settings, accepting all cookies, etc. and still nothing.

Being the wonderful world of MS, I tried re-downloading IE 6.1 and I got a message saying I already had a newer version, and it wouldn't overwrite it. Now I'm stuck.

Any technical advice would be appreciated.

Why not try uninstalling it, then reinstall?

I'm running XP.

Ok, this is going to sound stupid, but I don't know how to uninstall. It doesn't show up in the add/delete programs, and when I try and manually delete the folders it says it's being 'used by another program' even though I've shut down nearly everything. Darn the evil empire.

try this - open up IE. select 'tools'>>'internet options' and choose the "advanced" tab.

there should be a "restore defaults" button. press that and then apply.

if that doesn't work, check back and we'll work on plan b.

You can't uninstall and reinstall IE in XP unfortunately.

Edit - try this http://support.microsoft.com/default...en-us%3b293907

Unfortunately, it didn't help. As an aside, I downloaded Opera and it works fine. Mabye I should just switch over.

Well at least I feel a bit less stupid.

I'll check out the help link.

Thanks!
