Making itunes genius more useful
So, as I understand it, you use itunes genius by selecting a song, then genius plays a bunch of songs that sound similar to it. I've heard a lot of people say they like this because it reminds them of a bunch of stuff in their collection that they've forgotten about. That seems weird to me, since I already know what's in my collection, so this doesn't seem like a great way to learn about new music.
Since we've got a lot of people here that like telling each other about music, I figure we can use this in a group setting, and get more out of it. My idea is this: someone picks a song they like. Everyone else on the forum who has that song on their itunes puts it in genius, and posts the results. People who really want to be a mensch can download the song just for the sake of getting results to post, as well. What do y'all think?
