Hattrick: I signed up, now what

OK, so I signed up for a team, and I am #10 on the waiting list. Now what? I have no clue on how this works, but since so many people here are having fun with it, I thought I would give it a try.

I'd say take a look at the rules under "About Hattrick" -> "Rules". Browse through it maybe once before you get your team. Once you get your team and start setting about what to do, possibly glance at it again for reference. It has a lot of good information in there. First thing you do with your team, of course, is to set your Youth Spending to 20 000. Reading some of the Dynasties would not hurt either. A lot of them have good informations within as well as answers to questions to come up. The list of teams is a good place to check for teams to play friendlies against. Playing a good team with a big supporter's club like DataKing's, Ardent's, Horned's or RavenHawk's at their park will net you some money in addition to experience and training.

Division 6 is open, I have heard. You should have a team, possibly, in 1 day, 2 at most (unless someone lied to me).

First thing you want to do is make one very important purchase for your club. This purchase should cost you about 300k. his skills should be inad at scoring and wretched at passing. I just happen to have one of these and I will sell it to you for only 250k. that is because I am a nice guy.

Interesting how Marm never replied to this thread. It seems he has already been sucked into the Hattrick hole of life and has no time to post here anymore because he is too busy scanning the transfer wire

Marmel- I see you got your team, unless someone else has the Alias Marmel....if it is your team....then you got put in div 6- and you recieved a 'poor' coach, it is a good idea to fire him, you want either a passable or solid (some will go with an inadequate if they get it).

My series got all four inactive teams replaced this week.

And gratz on the team Marmel, that coach does suck it hard though. You should have a plan before firing . Figure out how much you will spend looking for solid or passable and then how much you will spend after that before you will just settle for anything.

Get a passable or solid coach... then expand the stadium to 16000 using the arena % tool in HAM.
Oh yeah, download HAM.
Then if you have some remaining money, buy some cheap trainees in the areas you want to train and sell the old guys in the area you want to train.
if you still have money left over, buy some players to fill your holes if you have any.

OK, I found my team. Keep n mind I know nothing about soccer.......

Hell, I spent 15 minutes trying to figure out how to fire my coach, and still can't. This is fun?

Left side menu....click your team's name.....click on "Training" under that name....now right hand side, there is a button called "Fire Coach." Have at it.

That's the worst you can get.

It goes like this with coaches:

solid
passable
inadequate
weak
poor
wretched
disastrous

You're supposed to keep firing them until you get a solid or passable one. It's going to cost you $10,000 each time though. Be careful not to spend too much money. I think it cost me 6 or 7 times till I got a solid coach.

Marmel - I highly (as have others) recommend reading the introduction for beginners. It covers everything outside of strategy. It's not really that long (although it seems like it) and it will make everything much clearer to you.

DON'T SPEND A LOT OF MONEY ON THE TRANSFER MARKET YET.

That is all.

Sheesh, looking over my players, it appears to my untrained eye that every single one of them sucks. They all have crappy form except 1 I think.

I will go back and reread the beginners giude now that I can look around at my team, but what should I be looking for in player attributes? All their forms are pretty bad, but some of them have a good rating or two......

Sorry. Instead of beginner's guide I meant game rules.

In the game rules section 13 they do a great job of showing you which skills are important for which position/special order. Figure out, then, what your strengths are and how your line up should play to those strengths.

Also check out My Best Team, which helps you fill out your lineup.

Good luck!

A passable coach who goes all out
A popular guy who is calm and honest.
Has solid experience and solid leadership abilities.

Geez, Marm don't fire him. That's an awesome coach for a D6 team.

your in division VI Marmel??? your gonna win your division this year probally You'll probally play against all computer teams.

I'd get an average team, get some good trainee's and upgrade your stadium. No need to get a bunch of expensive players. Computer teams suck big time. you should destroy them all.

If he is in Div. VI, then that means that they are going to fill up that series and he probably won't be playing against bots when it's all said and done.

ohhh...... well i wonder why there filling up division VI teams when there are still bots in divison 5. Theres probally gonna be a team or 2 open up in my division soon.

Hattrick really needs a better beginner's guide. There are alot of people who get a team then quit a month later cause they have no clue what they're doing... or have totally fucked up there team.
