Too many people in TC = death?
So just had the worst TC I've ever seen. 2010 year, so players are as old as they are now in real life.
Tom Brady 88/88 to 83/83 Randy Moss 81/81 to 76/76 Orlando Pace 73/73 to 62/62 Ty Warren: 65/65 to 47/47 Ryan Sims 58/58 to 51/51 Adalaius Thomas 72/72 to 59/59 Rookies Darryl Clark 5/62 to 8/51 Drew Davis 11/53 to 16/45 Eric Norwood 25/68 to 15/40 Norwood especially had unbelievable combine #s, and was really looking like an elite player. Now, I could chalk this up to simple bad luck, but here's the kicker. I went into TC with 109 players; could this have been the cause? |

Could be, I've seen strange things happen before with 100+ players in TC... and not only to the team in question, but to the whole league.

Looking at the individual cases, there doesn't seem to be one that looks like it couldn't happen in FOF under normal circumstances. Brady's -5 isn't all that special. Moss is old and a -5 is actually not that bad. Pace's -11 is tough, but in line with what the game does to old players. The three others are also a bit unlucky, but not that special. Rookies Clark and Davies sound like typical very green rookie changes. Norwood's loss sounds like you hit the jackpot in a negative way, being an unlucky volatility based change.
That said, Solecismic has stated before that it's unsafe to go into TC with more than 70 players. There are known cases of messed up careers and stuff after people tried to bring 100+ players into TC.

So a typical NFL TC of 80ish would be unwise. Interesting

I guess if you exceed the hard coded limits of the game by about 82%, your shit might get fucked up.
107 people in TC, get the fuck out of here. |

HA HA HA HA HA, this is just Shep being Shep. He has been doing this for years and years and now it is finally coming back to bite him.........too damn funny. There are rules put in place in several leagues because of and for Shep, just ask him!!!

Seriously you could have fucked up the league file for everyone and not just your team. At its heart this is just a spreadsheet and keeping 47 extra players around just to pray for that +4/+4 hit is irresponsible behavior. I thought it was common knowledge that >70 could have a negative impact on the league file. But I guess not. |

I forget what it was, maybe the uniform number generator could hang the game in the past. Certainly no data corruption, though.

Pretty strange conclusion you have drawn from your tiny data set there....

Steve - What was your common knowledge? Crittle - Yah, we won't mention the ones in place for you. And I dont get how it would be irresponsible, if I didn't know there would be any problem. Never seen this before, and as you know, I've gone into TC with a lot of people before. Some angry people with way too much time on their hands for FOF flipping out here. Relax. I don't spend a lot of time reading the boards here, and knowing no reason not to sign a bunch of guys, figured there was no downside (since teams in real life do a similar thing). I got killed in TC, so obviously it won't happen again, if for nothign else than superstition. Solecismic - So you're saying it was just luck, or hard to say? Thanks for the response.
