Positional Leaders

I thought it was simple, just looking through a league I'm in... but in practice in SP that is not the case. I thought it had to do with Personality, Leadership, and Experience, but never had an exact formula. I have seen guys that are relatively young with high leadership and personality take over as leaders from older guys with pretty good leadership and personality as well.

So, is there a random factor? Or, is there a known formula on how a leader is determined?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I believe that leaders are from the combo of leadership and exp. Not sure what the total number needs to be, though.

Personality and intelligence are the 2 componets that make mentors and need to be over 150, then once the guy gets to his 5th year, he'll become a mentor.

Not sure if either of these have been nailed down, but that is what I think, anyway. Others have done waaay more digging on this, hopefully someone will chime in and set us/me straight, cause I would like to know more about it myself.

I'd love to know too. Positional leaders planning probably takes more time than any other offseason task for me.

I don't think this has ever been precisely pinpointed in FOF 2007... it seems to be a non-linear function of experience and leadership (but not personality -- that affects strength of effect). Someone posted a hideous formula here once, but it seems to be less than perfect.

I've wished for knowledge of the formula for some time for use on the FOFL/IHOF sites, but settled for the formulas Quik mentioned above. They weren't perfect but they were the best available.

One thing I have noticed is that past a certain time in the league additional experience doesn't matter. I think this was at 8 years (so an 8th year guy with 95 leadership would beat a 15th year guy with 94).

Thanks, QuikSand.

I did a search, but couldn't find that formula. If anyone can link me to it, that would be great!
