Ping: Marc Vaughn re: CM4 Crash

I haven't received a password for the SIgmes.com forum yet, so I had to post this over here.

I'm playing as Udinese and I can't get past 15.6.2003. I continue the game on 11.6.2003 and it runs up until the 15th and then encounters an error.

Some info on my game, I'm running 17 divsions from 11 countries. The countries are USA, England, France, Germany, Italy, Holland, Portugal, Spain, Argentina, Brazil and Columbia. I didn't have this problem with the first patch, I ran Bari into the ground with the first patch and used the new patch as an excuse to start over.

Info on my machine. It's a 2.8Ghz Pentium 4 with a gig of ram and an All-In-Wonder Radeon 7500 video card. I'm running WinXP. If you need to know more, I can e-mail you the DxDiag report.

Also, if need be, I can put the save game file up on my company's webserver so you could download it as I'm sure e-mailing a 95MB file would probably piss a few people off

If you could put the game up on a server for me and email me the details ([email protected]) then I'll work out whats happening and get you up and running again ...

Sorry for any inconvenience,

Marc

Will do. I'll get it up on Monday and e-mail you the address. I'm going to e-mail you both the windows error report and the DxDiag report, but if there's anything else you need, just let me know. Thank you very much.

Marc,

Sorry to thread jack, and I'm sure others might turn a more critical eye, but I'm new to the series with CM4. I mainly decided to give it a go when I saw how many people were talking it up here.

You've got a hell of a product here. I can't wait to see what it plays like when you finish with the bug squashes and enhancements.

Nice work.

WussGawd - many thanks for the kind comments ....

We'll keep on with bug squashing until we're happy that all the flaws have been fixed and that the current level of gameplay is near perfect .... then we'll move onto enhancing it further for next years edition

PS. If you haven't already found it, there's a neat unofficial site called cmskins.com which contains a lot of add ons to the game. We took a lot of time making the game as expandable and skinnable as possible and it looks like people are having fun with this side of things

Marc,

Sent you an e-mail with the location of the file. Anything you can do for me would be great. Even if it just helps you troubleshoot and test, it's still worthwhile. Thanks.

Thanks - I've got the email just now ...

I'll download the save game tomorrow morning when I'm back in the office (can't manage it on my home 56k connection unfortunately).

Thanks again for all the help

What? You’re not hugely wealthy with several homes, big cars, and designer clothes. You are a programmer for the best computer game in the world. Don't shatter my image!
