Nope, that's the first I've seen it.
From the site, a few clues: Aussie racing? Okay... it's not necessarily a turn-off for me, but that would be a leap to overcome... It also looks like it combines standardbred (harness) racing in with throoughbred racing. Again, not necesarily a problem, but a different path than I might have taken. And, as I write, I have just noticed (in tiny writing) that there is a demo... I'll give it a look. Thanks for the heads up! |

Hmmm... looks like the game is exclusively standardbred harness racing, and that is pretty "European" in nature (this from the demo link site). Tough to say...

Well, the online demo only allows you to take the role of jockey - so you get to experience the in-race side of the game, but not the management side (which interests me much more). The game has pretty reasonable graphics (camera angle from right behind your rider's seat), and the race is fairly realistic (though the sulkies are a little bit too maneuverable, in my opinion)... but my initial inclination is that this isn't going to be my cup of tea.

I have no idea what a sulkie is, but I'm sure I wouldn't want it to be too maneuverable.

A sulky is the little harness cart placed behind a horse in harness racing. By their nature, they tend to be a bit rigid... it takes some real effort to change lanes and shift directions in them, as evidenced by the unbelivably dull mechanics of a real life harness race. In this game, they have loosened things up considerably, to make the in-race action more interesting. Sacrificing realism for more interest... not necessarily a bad thing.

ahh...I always assumed they would be pretty loose. Learn something new everyday.

Hmmm... British-based, but still could be promising.
