Help please :) - Maddenator
I ran a thread a couple days ago, and am up to 80+ views with no response. I'm thinking either : 1) No one has an answer or 2) I mislead people with my thread title, and folks thought I was specifically asking the mod creator
. So, on the off chance it's #2 - I'll re-do it with a 'friendlier' title. If anyone knows anything about this .. Please chime in ! ![]() -copy/pasted from previous thread. I just found this and have been having trouble getting it to work. Would be very cool to get 'see' my FOF team running around in Madden. (yeah, yeah, I could plug in names, heights, weights, numbers, stats myself - but ... oh, soo lazy haha). Anyway, just wondering if Maddenator works .. and if it does - is it compatible with Windows7 and Madden 08. Much thanks |

/me takes up his Maddenator suit.
Maddenator does work. And it works for at least Madden 08 and Madden 07 (I have Madden 08, and I know it's been tested with Madden 07, and it used to work with 06). I'm running it on Windows XP (I have no Win7, so I couldn't tell), but if you can run gstelmack tools in Win7 to get a proper extractor file, you should be able to run Maddenator. see Maddenator for IHOF : OFFICIAL IHOF Graphics Sticky thread (Madden + in game) - IHOF Forums (I haven't uploaded them all, but I have about 10 seasons available) I'll try to summarize the steps to make it work here : 1 - Create a Madden roster file matching exactly your FOF teams "cities and names". mymadden.ros 2 - Run a gstelmack extractor so you have all your 32 teams in a FOFroster.csv file 3 - Run Maddenator using mymadden.ros and FOFroster.csv file You're done. You might need to tweak or auto update the depth charts, but your players will be there in Madden. PS : don't hesitate to ask again if you can't make this work Last edited by Alf : 10-11-2010 at 03:54 AM. |

Looks like a Windows issue to me. If I can get the MADDENTOR.ros and FOFRoster.csv file, I could try running Maddenator on my "hopefully" still working machine.

Got it to take . The extractor is working fine, but still can't get the Maddenator to go on my machine. So I mailed files to my wife, and was able to do it on hers. I run Windows 7, She still runs XP. I imagine my problem is somewhere in that haha. Anyway, I have my solution. Thanks for your help, and offer to do it for me Alf * for folks finding this thread while doing a search for a similar problem. Very sorry, no solution . It appears Maddenator isn't compatible with Windows7. |

I'm about 99.99999% sure it is not that Maddenator "isn't compatible with Windows 7".
The Stelmack Suite wasn't designed for Windows 7. So, generally, there's some hacking - sometimes registry hacking - required to make it work because Windows 7/FOF decide to totally change how it looks for things. Unfortunately, I don't know what that change is.

As much as I've complained about FOF not supporting Vista/Win7 for the longest time, I'm pretty sure this is an inaccurate statement Quote:
The problem you are describing is that when FOF finally got around to supporting Windows 7, it removed the registry key that I was using to find where the FOF install was. So, some folks had to put that registry key back in. At one point before I had a 64-bit OS to test on, I had put in a feature that let you specify the path in a text file, but I don't remember if I pulled it once I fixed the 64-bit issue in the code, so that may or may not be an option. As for Maddenator, that worked with some DLLs to read the Madden files, and I haven't run it in a long time, so that error could be occurring anywhere. My guess is I've got Maddenator built against the "Any CPU" config, which means that on 64-bit Windows it runs as a 64-bit app, and then fails to load the Madden-reader DLL because it's a 32-bit DLL. That's what that error seems to be indicating. It will probably run fine on 32-bit Windows 7.
