Scrolling text

Is it just me, or is the scrolling text at the top new?

Where do you see scrolling text? In an ad, or part of the forum itself?

Weird, not sure which of my security things is blocking it if it is part of FOFC and not an ad. Must use some scripting that I have turned off for browser protection. I assume I'm not missing much?

Maybe it depends what skin you use. I don't see it when I use Sideline Green, but when I followed the link, for some reason it turned Solecismic Yellow, and the scrolling text was there.

That's what it is. Switching around skins, some has the scrolling text and some doesn't.

No, it isn't. I've had that hack active for quite some time, even prior to the move to OS. I used it to communicate information about the move back then.

Ah, well, I didn't notice it until RA pointed it out.

Interestingly, it scrolls at home, but here at work the text is stationary.

I've never seen scrolling text. I use the "Day at the Office" skin.

+1. I have to assume something has changed, I noticed it immediately this morning (not having seen this thread) but never noticed it before.

The *module* has been there for 2-3 years. I don't always have text there. I put that text up today for the new version. I've put various messages up there over time.

Ha, that's funny - I thought this was a joke.

I actually would prefer to see scrolling text, because the Announcement box isn't flashy enough to catch my attention. I only looked when SD mentioned the "new version" and I realized the above wasn't a joke.
