FOF on Netbook
Since I can't get the game to run on my Windows 7 desktop, I'm going to run it on my netbook which still has XP on it. One small problem: the bottoms of "in game" windows (Roster view, etc.) seem to get cut off on it despite the fact that it is set at the minimum resolution (1024x768, I believe) required. Anyone know a solution for this problem?
Thanks! EDIT: I was actually mistaken and my netbook is below the minimum resolution requirements. I made it playable by decreasing the DPI but it still gets ugly with some of the images. Last edited by TheFoosballWizard : 10-18-2010 at 07:03 PM. |

Actually found a registry tweak for my Acer Aspire One netbook...it has Windows 7 starter, the minute I tweaked it, I as able to maximize my resolution and the game works great..
1) Run regedit 1a) If you are not on higest tree level, go to him (by click on “Computer” from key tree) 2) Search and modify all values “Display1_DownScalingSupported” from “0″ to “1″ 3) Restart the system 4) Enjoy the two new resolutions: 1024×768 px and 1152×864 px

Will that work on a netbook using XP?
Also, does it force you to scroll or does the entire screen fit? Last edited by w24olfpack : 11-27-2010 at 11:52 PM. |

I run the game on a netbook, but the only time I get the game to work without having screen issues is to hook the netbook up to a larger monitor.

Should work on XP...the page I found it at was talking about XP...check it out. I do not have to scroll or anything...I have the res set to 1152 x 864 and it works just fine. I do not have it hooked up to a monitor or anything.... Best fix I found for it..

Hey, sorry to bring this back from the past, but I am really trying to figure out a way to "emulate the 1024x768 resolution on my xp Acer Netbook. I'm a tech guy but just trying to see if anyone has gotten this working in XP?

Get an old monitor from your garage or thrift shop(or use a new one).
Plug it into your netbook, and tell it that it's a projector. change the resolution. Bingo! A hassle if you travel..... |

Did you try the steps I posted above? If not, I do not know what to tell you..it worked for Windows 7, and I know the steps were for XP.
