PING: People who call their own plays in SP.
I use 100% playing time pretty much exclusively in normal circumstances. However, this season in one league I have an unusual (at least for me) situation: there's not much difference in talent between WR1 and WR5. I would assume play-callers have a better feel for the effects of in-game fatigue in FOF. Am I correct in assuming that this may be an unusual circumstance where dropping that number down significantly for my WRs may pay dividends in that the fresh guy will probably be the better guy?

In my anecdotal experience, there is enough of a performance effect that if I had two equivalent receivers, and all other variables were the same, I would choose the play that targets the fresher receiver.

Agreed. But the most important factor is the specific attributes needed for the particular route, IMO. I think. It might be expectation bias on my part.
But FWIW, it looks like I have more success matching it up this way: Short slants and crosses: avoid drops, courage, route running Outs, etc.: avoid drops, route running, adjust to ball Longer routes: big play, adjust to ball Obviously 3rd down/clutch is key in appropriate situations Point being, even if they are all rated equally in total, the breakdown will bring different performance in different situations. However, if you're not calling your own plays, you can't really account for this. Last edited by Wanderer : 12-22-2010 at 09:54 AM. |

Maybe endurance does affect performance... but if it does it affects offensive and defensive players equally, which makes it hard to tell.

I ended up using playing time in the 60-75% range all year long, depending on the circumstances of the particular week, and things worked out very well for the passing game, despite us not having an 800-yard receiver:

I'd love to have the RB on this list, just to give him the nickname of "One Tit".
