Wow this league has 8 DL spots; why so many?

We voted to have unlimited rsoter spots for players put on the DL and 8 was ESPNs max. Teams should not be penalized by having to cut an injured player. If a team goes over 8, then I'll have to commissioner-enforce the rule.

Also, no team can add a player on the DL to their team via waivers

So was a normal snake draft the consensus then (as opposed to auction)?

yessir - it was 6-5 for the draft, and one of the auction voters pulled out.

I haven't seen an invite for the league. Also...I'm going to have to scramble a bit to make an 11:30 AM draft. I should be able to pull it off though.

Glen - I've sent it 4 or 5 times - make sure they aren't ending up in your spam folder. Otherwise I'll need a different email address to use.

Also, Chief Rum has yet to accept the invite.

Right now, ESPN is telling me the draft is not scheduled - please accept invitations as soon as you can!

Whoops, forgot to get that set when I was home. I'll get in tonight.

The draft time is going to be rough for me too. I get out of church at 11:15, so I'll have to haul it it home fast. Hopefully I won't miss my first or second pick.

Anytime Sunday afternoon is great for me (I am CST) so I am happy with bumping it out a bit if it helps others.

The bump of half an hour or hour would be a great help. If it doesn't hurt anyone's plans us west coasters with church would appreciate it.

I bumped the draft 30 minutes to 3PM EDT to help the west coasters and the church goers.

30 seconds is not enough time. I like it the way it is. Minimum i'd go for would be 60 seconds.

Looking forward to embarrassing myself tomorrow. I've never been in a keeper league, and am not as familiar with the NL as the AL. I hope i'm not drafting first, as i really have no idea how the 1st round will play out.

Just some advise, but with our system, I wouldn't worry too much about the keeper aspect, especially early in the draft

Are we drafting our minor leaguers today or later in the season? I personally think a June draft just like MLB would be cool. It would give the season an added dimension of following prospects as the season goes on.

I'm just hoping that whenever the minor league draft is, we get to pick from a list. I have no idea who the prospects are. Last year I knew of two...and they are both in the major leagues today...so no help there.

I don't think a date has been decided yet, but it's today for sure - I would guess we will vote on that at some point.

I'm picking at the turn - sucks to have to wait 22 picks between selections, but I get to decide who's 1st round and 2nd round in order to have the best keeper.

Any player that was drafted that was not on a major league roster will be dropped and eligible to be replaced via waivers and FAAB. I'll try to cut them before the 11PM deadline tonight.

Good draft everyone! Steals went faster then I thought they would, and the 1B/3B sure dried up quick, but overall I am happy with my team.

I got caught sleeping on 1b/3b. When I saw it was thin...I didn't want to have to reach down to pick someone up. Then the next three or four options were gone before it came back to me.

Yeah, I ended up with Miguel Cairo as my 1B/3B which is the weakest spot in my lineup. At least I got Mora at 3B who will get at bats.

You dropped Mike Minor from my roster. He was called up today about 3 hours before our draft and is on a ML roster.

Two important notes:

First - Minor league players that were drafted have been released. You can fill those holes by picking up any eligible free agents - players on the major league roster of an NL team, not on the DL. Waivers run on Sundays and Thursdays at 11PM EDT.

Second - it looks like stats are indeed retroactive.
