new player quesstion

Hi I'm new to the game and wanted to thank people for the help so far.

I have couple more questions:

1. I drafted new players when I started and it gave me grades in a range from 1-100. Now I can't find those ratings. Do they still exist or do you just get how good they are at certain skills.

2. What's the best way to improve the skills of young players? Should I start them, or let them sit behind a veteran.
