Dreams/Nightmares so vivid they belong in this thread.

I'll start. Interpretations welcome.

Quote:
There was this female person lying in a coma in front of me. A disembodied voice told me that I needed to guess this person's date of birth, but I had to figure it out quickly or she will die. I then saw ghostly figure (A dementor? The Grim Reaper?) hovering above the comatose body. So I started calling out dates at random. 7/9/1985. 12/15/1950. 1/1/2000.

Once I said 1/1/2000, the female suddenly opened her eyes, and looked right at me. 'Help me!' her eyes seemed to say. Somehow I knew that 1/1/2000 wasn't the correct date, but was some sort of trigger to get her out of her coma. So I screamed out more dates. She began to respond back to me telepathically with random dates of her own. I realized that she was doing that to confuse the ghostly figure above her. Back and forth we called out more dates, each time I sensed I was getting closer and closer to the correct date:

April 23, 1970.

Once I said it out loud, the ghostly figure flew skyward and disappeared.
Any significance of April 23, 1970? No one I know was born on this date.

1/1/2000 is Y2K, maybe April 23, 1970 was some sort of default database date that haunted you.

Ok I don't really know but wanted to respond so that I remember to see other responses in the thread.

I was thinking Earth Day -- close, but no cigar.

Quote:
Earth Day is a day that is intended to inspire awareness and appreciation for the Earth's natural environment. The name and concept of Earth Day was pioneered by John McConnell (peace activist) in 1969 at a UNESCO Conference in San Francisco. The first Proclamation of Earth Day was by San Francisco, the City of Saint Francis, patron saint of ecology. Earth Day was first observed in San Francisco and other cities on March 21, 1970, the first day of Spring. This day of nature's equipoise was later sanctioned in a Proclamation signed by Secretary General U Thant at the United Nations where it is observed each year. About the same time a separate Earth Day was founded by United States Senator Gaylord Nelson as an environmental teach-in first held on April 22, 1970. While this April 22 Earth Day was focused on the United States, an organization launched by Denis Hayes, who was the original national coordinator in 1970, took it international in 1990 and organized events in 141 nations.[1][2] Earth Day is now coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network,[3] and is celebrated in more than 175 countries every year.[4] Numerous communities celebrate Earth Week, an entire week of activities focused on environmental issues. In 2009, the United Nations designated April 22 International Mother Earth Day.[5]

Year and a day after I was born?

I dreamed I was Jim (from The Office) last night. I had borrowed a truck (full-sized Tundra) from Andy for some sales thing. Then Phyllis didn't invite me out with everyone for drinks so I went home and picked up Pam, then went back to the bar and fussed her out. I should have known it was a dream, because I would have never left the house once I came home to Pam. It would have been a different kind of dream.

I've had some bad nightmares in the past, mostly when I had a fever. Once I became a dad though my nightmares turned to my kids dying. All of them seem to involve one or more of my children drowning. Sometimes in the bathtub, sometimes in a pool or an ocean. I don't know if I can communicate how badly those nightmares suck.

I frequently have dreams where I've killed someone and am on the run from the police. And every time, at some point in the dream, I end up smoking a cigarette in a small wood cabin a block and a half from a gas station while a fuzzy-edged blonde girl gets naked to an oldies tune.

That's just one of the types of dream that reoccur fairly regularly. Another one is where I'm able to jump in the air, sometimes standing, sometimes running first, and start flying through the air by swimming through it. Those ones feel so real I sometimes wonder if I haven't actually done it in real life. But the wind never blows. It's like the air is a pool or something.

I have to say, that is an awesome dream. It's one of those dreams I would spend the rest of my days trying to decode.

I had a dream about my oldest daughter (who was about six months at the time) was on the edge of an airplane window (it somehow had a ledge) and I watched her roll off onto the ground from high up. Same kind of suckage.

I have a number of different recurring dreams. For a while I had dreams about driving a car though I haven't had those dreams for a while. I've had a number of dreams where I've tried to act but can't move. A number of dreams about robbers / threat of physical injury from another person. And probably the most common is being high up somewhere and unable to get down from where I am.

I had an dream about the death of my artistic spirit. Shortly thereafter all my ability to write quality poetry seemed to dry up.

In short, I was a singer up onstage performing at some summer concert type thing when i was shot by a sniper (after being warned of the possible danger but insisting I wanted to go on anyways). The dream then cut to a field of what looked like translucent mushroom cap shaped things that were hovering off the ground where the consciousness of these famous dead people were stored, and i could see my consciousness in one of them, and even hear it talking in my head.

Very very vivid, and I had the dream like 3-4 times over a couple month time-frame.

I miss being able to write, and I keep hoping that one day I'll have a dream where they find a way to reinsert that consciousness into a body and I will then be able to write again.

I suppose if I was doing some sort of guided-dream I could make that happen.

Don't remember much about last night's dream, but one thing that stood out was of a kid eating a package of Nutter Butter cookies and I noticed his mouth and chin were slimed with jelly.

I woke up thinking what a brilliant idea.
