Won a laptop!

That was pretty cool. We had some Orville Redenbacher's microwave popcorn in the pantry. It had been there a couple of months, and my wife decided to pop it for my son instead doing the big popper tonight. On the bag was a little code that would only show up after the bag was popped. So, she checked the bag after it cooled, and sure enough we won a free laptop. Entered the code on the website (waiting for the catch) and there wasn't one. They are shipping it out. Probably nothing great or anything, but still pretty cool.

Never won anything that big.

First thought when I saw the topic: You mean those emails that I get in my yahoo spambox are true?

Congrats!

So, our free laptop came today. It is a nice little mini-netbook. About what I figured it would be. It is going to be my 15 year-old's school work (yeah, right. Facebook) computer. This is what we got:
NB305-N600

As MizzouRah said, it is a great laptop, because it is a free laptop!

I guess I need to try those things. Ever since companies went to the "agree to give us your name, address and email in exchange for this .00001% chance of winning something" way of doing instant games, I have never bitten. Not once. And it's still probably not worth it, but...

This wasn't one those, which was why it was cool. I never do those "enter code to see if you won" things. This one, the bag said we had won. We just entered the code to get the laptop. No junkmail, no ID fishing. It was straight-foward, and they sent it to us. Really nice win.

Ah, that's cool. Kinda surprised they did it that way, actually.
