Defensive left versus offensive left

I'm a little confused about the scouting reports section. I want to set up my gameplan to attack the weakest part of the other team's defense in the running game. If I'm trying to set my running game up to attach their weak link on the defensive left, is that actually the offense's right, or does the game view everything from the offense's perspective only?

The defense's left is the offense's right...
A way to check would be look at some of the players and what they are 'listed' as in FOF.
If I remember right, DwightFreeney is considered a RDE. And from watching the NFL on TV, we can see that he's lined up across the left LT.

FS SS
RCB WLB MLB SLB LCB
RDE RDT LDT LDE

SE LT LG C RG RT TE
QB FL
FB
RB

Guys, feel free to correct em if I got this wrong

Thanks for your help. I'm trying to get a little more advanced in my gameplanning and its hard to figure some things out in FOF because you can't ever see the field itself.
