Internet Speed Test

I've recently switched from Comcast cable to ATT uverse, and my internet 'seems' a little slower. Mostly if I'm watching some youtube, I'll see a delay/pause in the videos that I don't remember before switching. While the current delays/pauses are minor enough that it really doesn't bother me, I'm concerned that if/when I get back into MMO gaming, I could run into serious lag.

I ran a speed test (off Speedtest.net) and got the following results :

Ping : 45 ms
Download : 11.52 Mbps
Upload : 1.46 Mbps

So, I'm wondering ...

1. Has anyone else made this switch ? And if so, what are your thoughts.

2. What does that test mean ? And, how do you rate my results ?

3. Is that a decent place to test my internet speed, or is there a more accurate testing site ?

Thanks !

I recently made this switch as well.

I believe Comcast has everyone at 24Mbps. So, when you do the speed test, you'll see it some where in that neighborhood.

UVerse, you chose what speed you want and certain speeds aren't available to everyone.

When I switched, I went from 24 to 18 because 24 is not available to me.

I have Comcast at home and am subjected to AT&T torture at work.

There's a recent internet speed test thread, but I can't seem to find it.

I'm supposed to get 10/1, but in practice I get more like 28/1. Works for me.
