Assume Cell Phone Contract - anyone ever hear about this?
So I’ve had it with Verizon and am trying to find a way out of our family contract. I was on the phone with a tech the other day and he told me that we could essentially “give” our cell phone contract to someone else as long as they agree to honor the remaining terms. Has anyone here ever heard of this?
I searched online and evidently there are sites that do this type of stuff, but they charge to list your plan and make it searchable in their database. If so, is anyone interested in taking over my contract that has two lines with unlimited data? The details are: Family plan with 5 lines, 1400 minutes with 10 friends and family (unlimited calls to those 10), unlimited nights and weekends that starts at 9pm, 2 lines with unlimited data. Average bill is around $210.00 all in. Our contract dates are: Line 1: expires 7/24/2012 Line 2: no contract Line 3: expires 3/31/2013 Line 4: expires 2/2/2012 Line 5: expires 2/2/2012 Our phone upgrade dates (while extending contract 2 years) are: Line 1: 3/24/2012 Line 2: now Line 3: 11/30/2012 Line 4: now Line 5: now We will give whoever assumes the contract the following phones: 1 Motorola Droid, 1 LG Ally, 2 LG VX8300 and 1 Verizon Wireless Coupe. There are two things I can think of why someone would want to do this: 1. No activation fees. 2. Unlimited Data Plan on 2 lines. You can’t get that anymore on Verizon. |
