Shoes that you can make a serious profit on. If you announced you were handing out a limited number of $500 checks and you had no security to deal with it, you'd expect things to get pretty rowdy pretty quickly, no?

Not trying to excuse people's behavior, but for a big company Nike has a responsibility here IMO. Using this to generate a huge buzz and then relying on the local PD to clean up when things inevitably go south is pretty suspect to me.
