Would you put up with this TV picture?

https://skydrive.live.com/redir.aspx...Ld7SihQoPiR4Kg

We got this tv last night from Target. It wa the display model. 46" for $350 after taxes. As you can see, Target destroys their displays. Unfortunately, the TV was off when we got it, so we had no idea the dark patches were there. We have 45 days to return, but it's a great deal.

I've tried to read up about these issues, and I've been trying the suggestions to fix the patches. I've been running an all white screen, and I think it's helped slightly. There appears to be a haze when you're watching TV.

Anyone know of ways to fix this? would you just try and run these fixes for the next month before returning?

Given it was a display model, I just don't see Samsung covering it with their warranty.

I wouldn't keep it. Even if you get rid of the issue, it being a display model will mean you're going to need a new one in a couple years anyway.

Look up how to go into service mode. I think it's mute 182 on the remote. See how long it was on. Also, make sure it's not in shop mode too.

I'd probably return it anyways, but would play around with it.

Samsung will cover it under their warranty...I work as an ASM in a retail store and have run into this situation before. Samsung does not have to know it was a display model. All they need is date of purchase from the receipt and if it is a manufacturing defect which this appears to be. I would definitely contact them about it first but leave out the fact that it was a display model. They may even get you a brand new one...

Agreed with Dave...but you might have to wait several months if it has a lot of viewing time on it. Theoretically the guy could be like "how do you have 8900 viewing hours if you bought it 6 weeks ago". Although maybe not.
