Strong Bad!

You guys seen this? It cracks me up. I get the feeling there's more of Strong Bad out there, but this is all I've ever seen. Anyone know of more?

Yeah, strongbad!! I've seen every flash, and have been watching for awhile now.

In case you wanted to know, "The Strongbads" were a tag team (along with "The Ricky Fighters") in an OLD NES wrestling game.. Tag Team Wrestling or something... such a crappy game

I'm guessing that's how he got his name...

I said “Come on fhqwhgads,
Said, “come on fhqwhgads.”
Everybody to the limit, everybody to the limit,
Everybody come on fhqwhgads.

I said “Come on fhqwhgads,
Said, “come on fhqwhgads.”
Everybody to the limit - who’s that! - it’s to the limit,
Everybody come on fhqwhgads.

Come on fhwqwhgads,
I see you jockin’ me, tryin’ to play like: “U know me”

I’m like “Come on fhqwhgads,
Said, “come on fhqwhgads.”
Everybody to the limit, the Cheat is to the limit,
Everybody come on fhqwhgads.

I’m said “Ooh, aah, fhqwhgads,”
Said, “ooh aah fhqwhgads.”
Who’s that fhhhhhhwhat!
I said “who you gotta fhqwhgads!”

I don’t know, who it is;
But it probably is fhqwhgads.
I asked my friend Joe, I asked my friend Jake:
They said it was fhqwhgads.

I said “Come on fhqwhgads,
Said, “come on fhqwhgads.”
Who’s that to the limit, said me! to the limit,
Everybody come on fhqwhgads.

Man fhqwhgads, you’re just making yourself look worse y’know.
I mean, everybody’s just gonna feel sorry for you – I mean I do.

I swear- am I the only person who thinks that most net humor is stupid pop culture references and sophomoric idiocy? I've seen a couple that are pretty funny, but most of this is just stupid.

These guys that do home*runner are in the Atlanta area. One day on the way home from work I put the radio on 88.5 (Georgia State University) and some DJ was doing a sort of Top 20 songs of the year show, or something like that, but Strong Bad was in the studio too, and it was a riot. They also played the #1 Summer Jam during the show. It was the funniest thing I can ever remember hearing on the radio. Strong Bad said all of the music being played was the most boring he has ever heard...heh.

Our senses of humor are just not as evolved as yours I think. We dont recognize pop culture references and sophmoric idiocy quickly enough to keep from laughing at it. Pity us.

Count me as the only other person in the internet world besides sterlingrice. I really didn't think any of them were that funny or made much sense besides the attempt at juvenile humor. But then again, you would expect that from a curmudgeon.

Heh-heh - I know you guys aren't the only ones, but SI's post seemed to be begging for a smart-aleck response (to me at least...)

Homestar Runner isn't always that funny, but I think they do a great job of mixing video games, anime, pikachu, sunday morning cartoons and juvenile humor etc. into a bizarre amalgamation of parody and homage.

Admittedly a lot of internet humor is pretty silly and stupid, but that tickles the funny bone of a lot of people. For me, a lot of it is the feeling of "What the heck am I looking at?" combined with "I can't believe someone spent time creating this?" The Radiskull definitely falls in that category - it's just so out of left field that I can't help but laugh.

Of course it was begging for a smart ass remark- I wouldn't have it any other way

That said, I typically find net humor, well, as I said and it's one of those things where it seems like no matter how much you scream it at the top of your lungs, some people just won't agree (ie "the Yankees buy titles", "our President really is that stupid", or "the show Friends *isn't* at all funny")

Also, Anrhydeddu, it heartens me to see someone who agrees. Maybe I'm just prematurely becoming a curmudgeon- what's a good age for curmudgeon trainee (and would that just be called a cynic)?

Well, I'm not saying all net humor is stupid. I love the Onion, for instance. But every net fad could pass me by and I wouldn't be the worse for never having "all your base" brought up for the millionth time.

This paragraph is actually serious, tho (I'm trying to find an honest answer to this phenomenon):

Plus, it always seems to me that a lot of people think something is funny/cool/whatever only because they think they saw it first. It's like some sort of ownership status can be gained from having seen some humor first. Humor chain emails work off the same premise: "I saw it first so it's funnier to me than you and I am higher in the cosmic order of 'cool' because of it". I'm not being very clear here so I'll try to clarify. It seems a lot of people like certain net humor not because it's genuinely funny but so that when someone says "have you seen this" they can respond "yeah, I've seen this for months and have been telling people about it" and thus get a sense of superiority.

SI

Ohh man, I thought you'd like the one I posted.

"Strong Bad roxors!"

Haha, you just have to laugh at the little things, like him saying "Alright Shaq, (erases the q, then quickly puts ck), Shack.

Or how when someone writes to him in all caps he reads it like he's shouting. Wow. Strong Bad is a baller.

Ok, it doesn't seem that funny. Just watch em.

I thought it was funny becuse I thought it was funny. Certainly not because I saw it first. Wouldnt have surprised me if everyone here said yeah, we laughed at that TEN YEARS AGO. Wouldnt have mattered either. I thought it was funny and thought others on the board might too. Sorry if its too juvenile for you. I guess you could just not look at it and refrain from belittling those that like it, though. Nah too easy.

Whoa there, I didn't say there was anything wrong with juvenile humor (I have a 6 yr old, remember?), but that doesn't mean I get it. It's just another observation how the kewl d00ds of the world are taking over and leaving us old farts behind. By the way, Shorty does r0x0rs (whatever the hell that means). Peace.
