Monk : Natalie Teeger vs. Sharona Fleming
I'm a big fan of the show, still watch reruns - and was wondering. Which assistant/nurse did you like better ?

Natalie Teeger by 10,000 miles. Sharona was just an annoying as fuck character.

My wife is a big fan as well. I watched with her towards the end after Natalie joined the show. When I've watched the earlier episodes with Sharona, I always make a comment about how annoying she is. |

Looks wise, I think Natalie is prettier. With a decent set of legs. But, wasn't really talking about that
. Anyway, here are a couple shots of who they are.![]() ![]() |

Wow. Didn't realize I'd be in such a minority.
I was a big fan of Sharona as a character. She was annoying, but the way her annoying personality meshed with the annoying (to other characters in the show) personality of Monk was a large part of the magic of the show to me. I liked Teeger a lot in that Pizza Place show she was on. I had high hopes for her on Monk, but the magic just wasn't there. I watched the first few episodes with her, but soon lost interest in the show. Maybe it got better after she had been on the show awhile? Also, every time Sharona would cry on the show, I'd get to yell "There's no crying in baseball!" So there was that. |

I'm actually surprised anyone liked Sharona at all. But, was talking to a friend who felt just the opposite, so made me wonder if it was just me. But yeah, she almost ruins the show for me.

Hmm. I never connected her with A League Of Their Own. Loved her character in that movie.

Yep. This is my answer. I kind of stopped watching after Natalie was introduced - she was waaaay too nice in response to Monk's craziness. I think that any normal person would have been freaked out far more when Monk did one of his maddening OCD stuff. Maybe it helps that I'm from Jersey so Sharona didn't seem all that weird to me (seriously they did nail a certain type of Garden State personality).

I honestly can't decide. Going just on looks I preferred Natalie cause I always wanted to be one of the guys in her pizza shop. But as far as the show went, Sharona was probably a better foil for monk but I didn't dislike Natalie.

Same for me as some others here. I dug Natalie's looks, but Sharona was the more interesting character.

A lot of Monk fans were upset with Schram's firing but came around to Traylor Howard. I always thought Howard was very cut in her previous work, but felt like on Monk they frequently made her too butch.
Both were good in their own way. I'm with CR ... Sharona's character was the more interesting character and had depth. But Natalie didn't distract from the show as much as Sharona did. |

I liked Sharona. Natalie made the show a little too....breezy for me, I guess.
