IWS #196: MLB All-Star Game Special Edition
We're approaching baseball's All-Star break and it's time for the Midsummer Classic once again. What better way to celebrate than with an All-Star Special Edition of IWS.
******************************************************* The Rules The rules are the same as previous FOFC "Im With Stupid" Contests, as set forth by the games widely revered and beloved founding fathers. The object of this contest is to answer the questions posted, and to provide the most common answer among those submitted. For each question, your score will be equal to the number of people who submitted that response. Your score for the contest will be the product of your individual question scores. Yes, that word "product" means that they will be multiplied together, not added. Highest score wins. Collaboration of any kind is strictly forbidden. No posting your answers to this board, nor sharing them by e-mail or in any other way with other potential contestants. Just don't be an asshat, and this should end well. All determinations of "matches" and anything else requiring judgment fall to that of the sole administrator of this round of the game. You can reduce the need for doubt and judgment by properly spelling your submissions, being clear, and that sort of thing. The administrator's decisions are final and utterly inarguable, no exceptions. Any references that are unclear to you, due to language or geography, should be understood to be authored from the perspective of an English-speaking American. However, your answers do not necessarily have to be correct in order to score points. If I ask "What was the second-best comedy of the 1980s after Cheers?" and you answer "The Cosby Show" along with 20 others, you each (shockingly) score 21 points, despite the fact that the indisputable correct answer is "Night Court." ******************************************************* The Hall of Heroes
Spoiler
******************************************************* The Questions 1. The MLB All-Star Game is widely considered the best all-star event in sports. What is the second best all-star competition? 2. While fans choose the starting lineups for both teams, they unfortunately do not get to vote for the play-by-play voice. If fans did get to elect a play-by-play announcer for the game, who would win? 3. What is the greatest moment in MLB All-Star Game history? 4. What player left off this year's MLB All-Star Game rosters is the biggest snub? 5. The Home Run Derby was added to the All-Star Game in 1985. Ken Griffey Jr. leads with three wins. If the derby had started in 1933 with the first All-Star Game, who would be the all-time leaders in wins? 6. This year's All-Star Game is in Kansas City, and Royals Hall of Famer George Brett will be this year's ambassador. After Brett, who is the second-best player in Royals history? |

Holiday bump bump. Due to the holiday and travel, I probably will not tally results until Friday night. So let's call the final deadline 6 p.m. CDT July 6.

Night Court is a litmus test. If you like Night Court, I instantly know that you are someone of good character and can be trusted implicitly.
If you don't like Night Court, I just need to know more about you. If you tell me you don't get Night Court and think Star Wars is boring, you are dead to me. |

This deserves a bump, no? (I won't enter, though, the MLB theme is a recipe for disaster)
