Left or Right?
When I am viewing scouting report, how is "left" and "right" interpreted. Is it from the offensive side point of view or is it from whatever side of the ball you are looking at?
Also, How is short, medium and long defined in yards? Thanks. |

If you're talking positions, it's whatever side of the ball you're on. So the LT lines up against the RDE.

Some would argue against that in the game. I'm on the fence myself. But it makes sense that a WLB would line up over the LT and RT given the strength of the offensive formation. And the RDE is over the LT and LDE over the RT, but I've seen it said that's not the case. Whether they're right or wrong, I don't know, and I'm not sure how it can even be tested to find out since a LT can be seen giving up a sack to the LDE. If someone thinks I'm wrong about what I posted above, by all means let me know. EDIT: I think the main argument about matchups and who lines up vs who has alot to do with the thinking that OL talent is against DL talent overall, not individually.
