Fuck Belkin

What sacks of shit they are...

Bought a new wireless adapter to replace the one that went bad.

For several hours fought 'Error1638', which told me I had a prior Belkin install on my computer. So I uninstalled, still got the error. Went to the 'C' drive and deleted the Belkin folder, still got the error. Went to RegEdit and deleted anything that said Belkin, still got the error.

Restarted the PC so many times tonight.

So then I decide to call them and ask what I was missing. They could only answer the question if I paid for premium phone support. WTF?!?

Last time I ever do business with them.

When I worked at a big box retailer we went out of our way to never sell Belkin to customers. I'd sell Cisco and Netgear but never Belkin. Their stuff never seemed well made and, as you've seen, they don't do customer service either.

This is why I only buy Motorola modems and Netgear wireless adapters. Never had a problem with either one of those brands.

Their electronics division is just a front for their billion dollar premium phone sex business.

I have had a Belkin wireless router for the 5 years or so and have never had any troubles with it.

That said, based on the above, I doubt I will ever be getting another one.

I'm hoping that by dropping this here it will get out of my head:
