Ever Go Song Crazy Over an Old Song?

We all occasionally encounter a new son and then we can;t stop playing it over and over again. But do you ever listen to one of those songs you've had for years, and then all of the sudden you have to listen to it again and again like its new again? I just had that experience for the first time this evening and it was a bit odd, because I knew the song so intimately already, you know?

If you want the context, one of my top five favorites artists, a new age/dance guy in the project Schiller does a lot of songs with Kim Sanders, and this is one of their collaborations - embedding turned off but here's the vid:

Schiller - Let me love you (Official Video) - YouTube

Anyway, has that happened to you? It's odd.

I met my old lover
On the street last night
She seemed so glad to see me
I just smiled
And we talked about some old times
And we drank ourselves some beers
Still crazy afler all these years
Oh, still crazy after all these years

Been on a major eddie vedder kick the last couple months, looking for him singing other well known tunes or looking for special live performances of my favorite songs on youtube, etc. Those journeys always start with a nice live version of Black.

Nice to know there are others out there like me in this respect. Not in terms of the crappy guitar music you listen to but that it happens

To pick a few that I have listened to obsessively over the last few months...

A 20+ year old cover of an even older song, been listening to this ton this week after not hearing it for years.

I am a huge Concrete Blonde fan, but in this case, I feel like the remake doesn't even come close to the Leonard Cohen original.

Agreed and like them both, just find CB's a bit darker, though the original is a masterpiece for sure.

Yes, this definitely happens to me a lot. I don't have much time for music these days, so I can't think of an example, but an old song will just click all of a sudden.

Love this song, even though I dislike most Queensryche music.
