Voidable Year - Salary Cap Implication
So how does this work. Couldn't find the answer
Player signs: 6 million Bonus Year 1 - $150,000 Year 2 - $500,000 Year 3 - $1,000,000 (Voidable) I assume that if year 3 voids my salary cap will be hit for $2 million dead money, the prorated portion of the bonus. Right? The $1 million salary just goes away. Please help. Last edited by Normie32r : 07-12-2013 at 04:37 PM. |

Yes. That is correct. If the player meets or exceeds the statistical target during year 2 of the contract then he becomes a UFA in the offseason between years 2 and 3. You will also have $2,000,0000 of lost cap room during year 3.
