AI roster adjustment to 53 in preseason? -- odd behavior
In the FFL they had a very weird situation where a team had 58 players on roster in the preseason, did not export, and in Pre2 (where they did have a game), 5 players were released to bring the total down to 53. Is anyone familiar with this kind of behavior?
No imports were shown for this team, so tampering seems out of the question. It seems AI action is the only possibility, but I struggle to believe that spontaneous appplying of regular season roster rules during the preseason would have gone this long as a bug, without being noticed. |

Were they over the cap?

Possibly an illegal roster and the CPU cut enough extra players to keep them under the cap?

Hm. That is possible -- it wasn't my team so I don't know -- but I would expect the AI to have made some signings if that were the case. The roster wasn't illegal enough that anyone had to be signed that week.

It happens every now and then. If your roster is illegal during the preseason when a game is simmed, it CAN make your roster legal for the regular season. But, it doesn't always do it. Not sure what the exact trigger is, but it's happened more than a few times in leagues.

Thanks, Yoda! That's perfect in that we nailed down the answer. A little too bad that it is an occasional bug with no understood reason. I guess guys are going to just have to be extra vigilant about their preseason rosters!
