FOF7 Starting Season Using Alternate Player File

I must be doing something wrong as other appear to be not having this problem. I am trying to start a career using a alternate player file. I start a new season and select the "yes" option for "Begin game using alternate player file." Once I hit OK, Beginning New Game appears in the bottom status bar as well as a bar growing from right to left. Next thing I get is Year:2013 in the status bar. No problem for the file. In fact I get the same responses if I select yes or no to "Begin game using ......."

Anyone else experience this ?

Yes - I am experiencing the same thing. Anyone have any ideas?

Did you by chance edit your graphics ? I think that is causing problems. My backup of the original .exe works fine by my ,exe credit after the graphics edit doesn't.
